Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan penguasaan konsep dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa SMP melalui pembelajaran menggunakan Model Siklus Belajar 5E Abduktif Empiris. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasy eksperiment. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Non-equivalent Pretest-Posttest Control-Group Design. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada salah satu SMP Negeri di Kota Depok tahun pelajaran 2015/2016. Ada dua kelas yang terlibat, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan model Siklus Belajar 5E Abduktif Empiris dan kelas kontrol yang mendapatkan pembelajaran Siklus Belajar 5E tanpa Abduktif Empiris. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui tes penguasaan konsep dan tes keterampilan berpikir kritis dan dianalisis menggunakan SPSS 18. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara peningkatan penguasaan konsep dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas eksperimen dengan siswa kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut disimpulkan bahwa peningkatan penguasaan konsep dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran model Siklus Belajar 5E Abduktif Empiris lebih tinggi secaara signifikan daripada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran model Siklus Belajar 5E tanpa abduktif empiris. ;---This study was aimed to identify student’s concept mastery and critical thinking skills through the use of empirical abductive learning cycle 5E model. This study was conducted at one of SMP in Depok for the 2015/2016 academic year. It used quasi experiment method with nonequivalent pretest-posttest control-group design. There were two classes involved, the experiment class where the students using empirical abductive learning cycle 5E model, while the control class using learning cycle 5E model without empirical abductive. Data was respectively collected and analyzed by using student’s concept mastery test and critical thinking skills test and data analysis tools SPSS version 18. The result shows that there is a significant difference in student’s concept mastery and critical thinking skills of the experiment class compared to the control class. It can be concluded that student’s concept mastery and critical thinking skill who using empirical abductive learning cycle 5E model performed better significantly.
