Abstract

Tujuan umum penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan software Edmodo melalui smartphone lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan cooperative learning dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa ranah kognitif pada mata pelajaran TIK tentang perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi. Tujuan khusus penelitian yakni untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan software Edmodo melalui smartphone dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa ranah kognitif aspek pengetahuan dan aspek penerapan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan karena sekolah tersebut sebelumnya tidak pernah menerapkan atau menggunakan software Edmodo melalui smartphone dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitain ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan tiga tahapan penelitian, yakni pretest, treatment, dan posttest. Dalam tahap pretest, siswa diberikan soal berbentuk pilihan ganda sebanyak 19 butir. Kemudian tahap treatment siswa diberikan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan software Edmodo melalui smartphone pada mata pelajaran TIK tentang perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komuniasi, kemudian tahapan akhir yaitu posttest, siswa diberikan lagi soal yang sama pada tahap pretest. Perubahan nilai rata-rata siswa terlihat adanya peningkatan setelah diberikan treatment, dan setelah penelitian dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan software Edmodo melalui smartphone lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan cooperative learning. Penelitian ini direkomendasikan kepada guru agar penggunaan software Edmodo melalui smartphone dapat diterapkan sebagai alternatif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

The general objective of this study is to determine whether the use of Edmodo software via smartphones is more effective than the cooperative learning in improving the study result of students in cognitive domains of ICT sucbject on the development of information and communication technology. The specific objective of this research that is to know whether the use of Edmodo software via smartphones can improve the study result of students in cognitive domains of knowledge and application aspects. This research was done because the school had never applying or using Edmodo software via smartphones in improving the study result of students before. The method used in this study is a quasi experimental study with three stages, namely the pretest, treatment, and posttest. In the pretest stage, the students are given a multiple choice question as much as 19 point. Then, in the treatment stage, the students are given a learning by using Edmodo software via smartphones in the ICT subject on the development of information and communication technology. The final stage, namely posttest, the students are given the same test in the pretest stage. The changes in the average students’ value is seen increase after the treatment and the research are done. It can be concluded that the use of Edmodo software via smartphones is more effective than the cooperative learning. This research was recommended to teachers to use Edmodo software via smartphones that can be applied as an alternative to improve the study result of students.
