Abstract

Penelitian ini mengambil judul “Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif tipe Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Siswa (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dalam Pembelajaran Sejarah di Kelas XI MIA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Cicalengka). Penelitian ini memfokuskan pada upaya meningkatkan pemecahan masalah siswa dalam pembelajaran sejarah. Indikator dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah diantaranya adalah mengidentifikasi masalah, mencari sumber, menganalisis dan menyimpulkan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dan desain penelitian dari Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. Desain penelitian model Kemmis dan Mc Taggart terdiri dari beberapa tahapan diantaranya perencanaan (plan), pelaksanaan (act), observasi (observe) dan refleksi (reflect). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dalam pembelajaran sejarah mengalami peningkatan. Hal tersebut terlihat dari kenaikan persentase kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) yang menunjukkan adanya perubahan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa yang semula kurang baik menjadi berada pada kategori baik. Hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi rekomendasi bagi guru atau pihak sekolah untuk mengembangkan pembelajaran dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa, agar pembelajaran yang dilalui siswa menjadi lebih bermakna.;--- This research entitled “Implementation Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model for growing students problem solving ability (Classroom Action Research in learning history Class XI MIA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Cicalengka)”. The main object of this research is growing problem solving ability of students in teaching history. Indicators of the problem solving ability of the students are consist of the problem identification, look for sources, analyze the problem and summarize. The research method is the method of the classroom action research (PTK) using the design study of Kemmis and Mc Taggart. The design study of Kemmis and Mc Taggart of four phases, plan, action, observation, and reflection. Based on the research that has been done, shows the problem solving ability of students in each of the implementation of measures that have increased. The increase in the average percentage of the problem solving ability of students through the application of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model indicate a change in the problem solving ability of students who initially have low ability into good categories. The results could be a recomendation for teacher and schools comitee to develop learning to increase problem solving ability of students in order that students’s learning are meaningful.
