Abstract
Penulisan skripsi ini dilandasi dari keingintahuan penulis melihat ciri-ciri realisme sosialis yang terdapat pada karya-karya masa penjajahan Belanda. Dalam hal ini, penulis memilih novel Hikajat Kadiroen karya Semaoen sebagai fokus utama penelitian. Seperti diketahui, realisme sosialis di Indonesia syarat dengan karya-karya seniman Lekra. Realisme sosialis merupakan pedoman wajib berkarya Lekra yang digunakan saat menghasilkan karya. Namun, ternyata bukan hanya karya-karya Lekra saja yang syarat dengan realisme sosialis. Karya-karya pada masa penjajahan Belanda juga memuat hal tersebut. Hal ini tidak terlepas dari kesamaan keduanya sebagai karya perlawanan dan alat perjuangan untuk memenangkan sosialisme. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan struktur dan menyajikan ciri-ciri realisme sosialis yang terdapat dalam novel HK. Untuk mengungkap penelitian ini digunakan metode deskriptif analitik. Teori yang digunakan adalah sosiologi sastra Ian Watt yang terfokus pada sastra sebagai fungsi sosial. Adapun ciri-ciri realisme sosialis, penulis rumuskan berdasarkan konsep realisme sosialis Rusia, Cina, dan Indonesia. Dari hasil rumusan tersebut dihasilkan 17 gambaran ciri-ciri realisme sosialis. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ciri-ciri realisme sosialis dalam struktur novel HK tampak mendominasi dan dalam novel HK sesuai ciri-ciri realisme sosialis yang telah ditentukan tampak muncul keseluruhan. Hanya terdapat satu ciri-ciri realisme sosialis yang tidak muncul dalam novel yaitu, seni harus menampilkan slogan. Hal ini bisa disebabkan, Semaoen belum memahami secara tepat fungsi Slogan dalam karya sastra sebagai pendukung propaganda mewujudkan sosialisme. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, novel HK tepat disebut sebagai novel beraliran realisme sosialis dan bercorak realisme sosialis.; This process of writing skripsi is based on writer’s curiosity about socialist realism that seen in literature at Dutch colonialization times. In this matter, writer choose Hikajat Kadiroen novel written by Semaoen as research focus. As we know it, socialist realism in Indonesia is full with Lekra writers. Socialist realism is a must for literature in Lekra. But, not only Lekra that use socialist realism. Literature at Dutch colonialization times use socialist realism too. This thing show that both kind of the literature is used as resistance and struggle to win socialism. This research’s purpose is to describe the structure and to find socialist realism characteristics in HK novel. To investigate this research, writer will use analysis descriptive method. Theory that used in this research is literature sociology from Ian Watt that focused on literature as social function. Writer will describe socialist realism characteristic based on socialist realism concept from Russia, China, and Indonesia. From this formulation, is resulted 17 characteristic socialist realism. The result of this research show that socialist realism characteristic dominated the structure of HK. Socialist realism characteristic that found in HK novel appear all of it. Only one characteristic of socialist realism that did not found in the novel, that is art must show as slogan. This thing can occur because Semaoen haven’t understand function of slogan in his literature as a support for propaganda for sosialism. As of it, HK novel called as socialist realism novel and have its characteristics.
