    Abstract

    Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah kurangnya kemampuan menyimak siswa kelas IX-B SMP Negeri 44 bandung Tahun ajaran 2015/2016. Oleh karena itu dengan adanya model pembelajaran Numebered Head Together (NHT) diharapkan siswa bisa mengatasi persoalan tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan menyimak siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model pembelajaran NHT. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kuasi eksperimen, dengan desain pretest and postest group. Teknik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik tes. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes tulis. Hasil dari penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa: (1) kemampuan menyimak siswa sebelum menggunakan model pembelajaran NHT rata-rata nilainya adalah 50,73, sedangkan kemampuan menyimak siswa setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran NHT rata-rata nilainya adalah 90; (2) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan menyimak siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model pembelajaran NHT, hal ini berdasarkan hasil titung (5,60) > ttabél (2,46); (3) berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang menunjukan titung (5,60) > ttabél (2,46) membuktikan bahwa model pembelajaran NHT dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menyimak siswa kelas IX-B SMP Negeri 44 Bandung. Kata kunci: Model pembelajaran NHT, menyimak, cerita pendek The background of this study is the lack of listening skill of IX-B students of SMP Negeri 44 Bandung year of study of 2015/2016. Therefore, with the Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning model, the students are expected to be able to overcome with the problem. This study is aimed to compare the students’ listening skill before and after the NHT learning model is given to them. The method used in this study is aquasi-experimental methods, with pretest and posttest group design. The technique used was testing techniques. The instrument used was a written test. The results from this study stated that: (1) the average grade of students’ listening skill before using the NHT learning model is 50.73, while the average grade of students’ listening skill after using the NHT learning model is 90; (2) there is a significant difference between the listening skills of students before and after using the NHT learning models, it is based on the results of titung(5.60) > ttabél (2.46); (3) based on the results of research that shows titung (5.60) > ttabél (2.46) it is proved that the NHT learning model can improve the listening skill of IX-B students of SMP Negeri 44 Bandung.
