Abstract
Dalam menyelesaikan soal fisika pada materi gaya diperlukan kemampuan menggambar free body diagrams agar siswa terbantu untuk menganalisis gaya-gaya yang bekerja pada suatu benda, panjang vektor gayanya dan penamaan gaya-gaya yang bekerja pada benda. Oleh sebab itu, peneliti melakukan penelitian mengenai identifikasi kemampuan siswa menggambar free body diagrams. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode deskriptif yang berarti peneliti mendeskripsikan hasil temuanya tanpa adanya perlakuan khusus pada siswa. Partisipan yang ikut serta dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa SMA kelas X sebanyak 35 siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui tingkat kemampuan siswa menggambar free body diagrams dalam menyelesaikan tes uraian terbatas dan tes uraian terstruktur. Berdasarkan kedua jenis tes tersebut, setiap siswa akan diklasifikasikan dalam empat tingkat kemampuan menggambar free body diagrams dimana setiap tingkat memiliki karakteristik yang berbeda dan peneliti mewawancarai siswa saat menyelesaikan tes. Hal ini dilakukan agar peneliti bisa mengetahui bagaimana cara penyelesaian siswa ketika mengerjakan kedua tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukan kemampuan siswa menggambar free body diagrams pada tes uraian terbatas sebanyak 34,86% termasuk pada tingkat no evidence of, 24,11% tingkat inadequate, 29,14% tingkat needs improvement dan 4 % tingkat adequate. Pada tes uraian terstruktur sebanyak 16,59% termasuk tingkat no evidence of, 23,99% tingkat inadequate, 36% tingkat needs improvement, dan 13,71% tingkat adequate. Peneliti menemukan bahwa siswa yang menggambar free body diagrams terlebih dahulu dan menggambar free body diagrams dengan benar lebih sukses dalam menyelesaikan tes uraian terbatas dan uraian terstruktur. Kata kunci : gaya, free body diagrams, uraian terbatas, uraian terstruktur While solving physics problem particularly in force matter, it is needed ability of constructing free body diagrams which can help students to analyze every force which acts on an object, the length of its vector and the naming of its force. The method which was used in research is descriptive method which is researcher explain the result without any special treatment to participants. The participants were high school students in first grade totals 35 students. The purpose of this research is to identify students’ ability level of constructing free body diagrams in solving restricted and structured response items. Considering of two types of test, every student would be classified into four levels ability of constructing free body diagrams which is every level has different characteristic and researcher interviewed some students while solving test. In order to know how students solve the problem. The result showed students’ ability of constructing free body diagrams on restricted response items about 34,86% included in no evidence of level, 24,11% inadequate level, 29,14% needs improvement level and 4 % adequate level. On structured response items is about 16,59% included no evidence of level, 23,99% inadequate level, 36% needs improvement level, and 13,71% adequate level. Researcher found that students who constructed free body diagrams first and constructed free body diagrams correctly more successful in solving restricted and structured response items.
