Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan penguasaan konsep dan literasi sains siswa setelah diterapkan Model Inkuiri Abduktif. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya penguasaan konsep siswa. Hasil studi PISA pada tahun 2009 menunjukkan bahwa masih rendahnya literasi sains siswa Indonesia. Studi PISA yang dilakukan oleh OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation & Development) mengukur sejauh mana kesiapan siswa dalam menghadapi tantangan yang ada di masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu kuasi eksperimen. Desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa-siswi kelas X di salah satu SMA Negeri Bandung yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Pengambilan data dilakukan melalui pemberian tes penguasaan konsep dan literasi sains siswa berupa soal berbentuk pilihan ganda. Selain itu juga dilakukan observasi keterlaksanaan Model Inkuiri Abduktif yang dilakukan oleh observer saat pembelajaran berlangsung. Data hasil pretest dan posttest dianalisis dengan menggunakan menggunakan skor gain ternormalisasi N-Gain. Dari hasil analisis data diperoleh adanya peningkatan penguasaan konsep dengan gain ternormalisasi sebesar 0,61 dan termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Literasi sains juga mengalami peningkatan dengan nilai gain ternormalisasi sebesar 0,56 dan termasuk kategori sedang. Dari hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa Model Inkuiri Abduktif dapat meningkatkan penguasaan konsep dan literasi sains siswa SMA. Kata Kunci : Model Inkuiri Abduktif, Penguasaan Konsep, dan Literasi Sains. This study aimed to determine the increase in mastery of concepts and student’s scientific literacy after of abductive Inquiry Model implemented. The background in this research is the student’s weakness for mastery of concept. PISA’s study in 2009 showed that the student’s scientific literacy still weak. PISA’s study which did by OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) had measured the extent to which a student's readiness for the challenges that exist in society. This study used quasi-experimental method and one group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study was10th grade students of one senior high school in Bandung which selected through purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through mastery of concept and scientific literacy test in multiple choice form. Morover there is observer who observed feasibility of abductive inquiry model when learning take place. The results of pretest and posttest scores were analyzed using the gain normalized N-Gain. Analyzing data showed the increasing mastery of concept by the normalized gain of 0.61 and it is come under in medium category. Scientific literacy showed increasing value of the normalized gain of 0.56 and it is come under in the medium category. These results can be concluded that the inquiry abductive model can be improved mastery of concept and scientific literacy of high school students.
