Abstract
Rendahnya minat dan motivasi siswa dalam pembelajaran menulis karangan narasi menjadi latar belakang dilakukannya penelitian ini. Salah satu penyebab rendahnya minat dan motivasi siswa dalam menulis karangan narasi adalah kurang variatifnya model pembelajaran yang diterapkan di guru. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji efektivitas model problem based learning berbasis media film pendek dalam pembelajaran menulis karangan narasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu dengan rancangan nonequivalent control group design. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh nilai rata-rata prates kelas eksperimen sebesar 62,16 dengan kategori nilai cukup dan pascates sebesar 72,33 dengan kategori nilai baik sedangkan nilai rata-rata prates kelas kontrol sebesar 56,76 dengan kategori nilai cukup dan pascates sebesar 62,83 dengan kategori nilai cukup. Untuk mengetahui taraf sigifikansi kemampuan menulis karangan narasi pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol digunakan perhitungan dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95% dan derajat kebebasan (dk) = 58 maka diperoleh hasil ttabel sebesar 2,0021 dan t0 sebesar 8,36 atau t0 (8,36) > ttabel (2,0021). Berdasarkan perhitungan tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ha diterima Ho ditolak. Kata kunci: model problem based learning, film pendek, menulis karangan narasi. Low interest and motivation of students in essay writing narrative into the background of this research. One of the causes of low interest and motivation of students in writing narrative esaay is less varied learning model applied by teachers. The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of problem based learning model of media based short films in teaching essay writing narrative. Methods tha are used in this research is quasi experimental with nonequivalent control group design. Based on the research results, that an average value of 62,16 pretest experimental class with moderat value category and post-test of 72,33 with good value category. To determine the significance level of narrative essay writing skills in experimental class and control class used calculations with 95% trust level and degree of freedom is 58, obtained results is t0 of 2,0021 and t0 of 8,36 or t0 (8,36) > ttabel (2,0021). Based on these calculations it can be concluded that Ha be accepted and H0 rejected. Keyword: problem based laerning models, short films, essay writing narrative.
