Abstract

Keterampilan menulis merupakan salah satu keterampilan berbahasa yang sangat penting. Keterampilan menulis bisa dikatakan merupakan puncak dari keterampilan berbahasa, karena di dalamnya termuat tiga keterampilan yang lain, yakni menyimak, berbicara, dan membaca. Pada kegiatan pra penelitian, peneliti menemukan masalah yaitu peserta didik belum terampil membuat karangan deskripsi dengan baik. Setelah dilakukan pengumpulan data awal, masalah tersebut ternyata disebabkan oleh banyak hal, di antaranya kurang variatifnya metode pembelajaran yang digunakan, kurangnya kemampuan guru dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia, serta kurangnya buku-buku yang menunjang pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji serta berupaya meningkatkan keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi peserta didik melalui teknik rumpang disertai gambar. Teknik rumpang dipilih oleh peneliti karena teknik ini dapat mengenalkan bentuk karangan deskripsi kepada peserta didik. Selain itu, teknik rumpang pun dapat melatih dan memperkaya perbendaharaan kata peserta didik. Sedangkan media gambar dipilih karena mampu merangsang ketertarikan peserta didik terhadap proses pembelajaran yang sedang berlangsung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas dengan dua kali siklus serta dua tindakan dalam setiap siklus. Setiap siklus dilakukan tahapan perencanaan, setelah itu dilakukan pelaksanaan atau tindakan, selanjutnya diobservasi, dan terakhir diadakan refleksi untuk dijadikan bahan masukkan untuk siklus selanjutnya. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas V SD Negeri Campaka I Kecamatan Campaka Kabupaten Cianjur. Instrumen yang digunakan terdiri dari tes keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi dan lembar observasi. Analisis kualitatif dan kuantitatif sederhana dilakukan untuk mengukur rata-rata keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi peserta didik sebelum dan setelah tindakan serta perbandingan peningkatan keterampilan antar tindakan dan antar siklus. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi peserta didik meningkat rata-rata 6,5 %. Artinya pembelajaran dengan teknik rumpang melalui media gambar dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi peserta didik. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa teknik rumpang melalui media gambar dapat dijadikan metode pembelajaran menulis karangan deskripsi di sekolah dasar. Writing skills can be said is the culmination of language skills, because it contained three other skills, namely listening, speaking, and reading. In the pre-research activity, researchers found that the problem has not been skilled learners make good essay description. After the initial data collection, the problem was caused by many things, among them be lacking varieties learning methods used, the lack of ability of teachers in learning Indonesian, as well as the lack of books that support learning Indonesian. This study aims to assess and work to improve essay writing skills of students through technical descriptions with pictures cloze procedure technique. Mechanical cloze procedure technique chosen by the researchers because the technique can be introduced form of composition descriptions to students. In addition, any cloze procedure techniques can train and enrich the vocabulary of learners. While media images been able to stimulate the interest of students to the learning process is ongoing. This study uses a classroom action research with two cycles and two treatments in each cycle. Each cycle is done the planning stages, after it carried out the implementation or action, then observed, and last held the reflection to be used as fill material for the next cycle. The subjects were students class V Elementary School of Campaka I Sub District Campaka Cianjur. The instrument used consisted of description essay writing skills test and observation sheet. Simple qualitative and quantitative analysis performed to measure the average skills of essay writing descriptions of learners before and after the action and skill enhancement comparison between action and between cycles. These results indicate that essay descriptions writing skills of learners increased by an average of 6.5%. It means learning gaps through the medium of drawing techniques can improve essay writing skills of learners description. This shows that the gaps through the medium of drawing techniques can be used as a method of learning to write essays descriptions in elementary school.
