Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kegiatan menulis, khususnya menulis teks berita siswa SMP yang masih rendah. Faktor-faktor penyebab masalah tersebut diantaranya siswa kesulitan mencari dan menuangkan gagasan dalam menulis teks berita. Selain itu, faktor penyebab lain yaitu metode yang digunakan guru dalam pembelajaran menulis teks berita kurang bervariatif. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut peneliti akan menguji kefektifan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe round table dalam pembelajaran menulis teks berita. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk melihat keefektifan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe round table dalam pembelajaran menulis teks berita. Model pembelajaran ini berfokus pada pembelajaran dengan menunjuk tiap-tiap anggota kelompok untuk berpartisipasi secara bergiliran dalam kelompoknya dengan membentuk meja bundar atau melingkar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen kuasi dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas pembanding dengan jumlah masing-masing sebanyak 36 orang. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa hasil tes kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks berita. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan menulis teks berita dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe round table mengalami peningkatan yang lebih tinggi dibandingan dengan pembelajaran terlangsung. Hasil perhitungan diperoleh thitung > ttabel, yaitu 4,225 > 1,669. Merujuk pada hasil hipotesis tersebut, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil pembelajaran menulis teks berita di kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe round table dengan kelas pembanding yang menggunakan metode terlangsung. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe round table efektif dalam pembelajaran menulis teks berita. ---------- The reaserch is motivated by the activity of writing, especially in writing news item of studets of Junior High School, wich still now. The factors of cause problems are the the defficulties ti find and express the ideas in writing the text. In addition, other factors are the method used by teachers in teaching news item is not have enough variation of method. Based on these problems, researcher will test the effectiveness of the implementation of cooperative learning model with round table type in writing skill og news item. The purpose of this study is to see the effectiveness of cooperative learning model with round table type in writing skill of news item. This learning model is focused on learning by oppointing each member of the group to participate to turns in their group to from round table or circular. The method used is a quasi experimental design with nonequevalent control group design. This study uses two classes, that is experimental and comparison classroomwith the respondents of each class are 36 people. The data in this study come from the results of students’ abilities tests in writing news item. The results showed that the ability to write a news item by using cooperative learning model with round table type run into a higher enhancement compared with the conventional learning. The calculation result obtained from tcount > ttable, that is 4,225 > 1,669. Reffering to the result of hypotesis, there are significant differences between the results of learning in writing news item in experimens classroom by using cooperative learning model round table type with the of comparison classroom that use convensional method. So, it can be concluded that cooperative learning model round table to be effective in learning to write news item.
