Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah peningkatan literasi matematis siswa dengan Pembelajaran Matematika Kontekstual (PMK) baik secara keseluruhan maupun berdasarkan kelompok kemampuan awal matematis (KAM) serta peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa SMP. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah desain kelompok kontrol non-ekivalen. Sampel diambil dengan teknik purposive samplling sehingga terpilih 22 orang siswa kelompok eksperimen dan 22 orang siswa kelompok kontrol pada kelas VIII SMP Negeri di Bandung. Kelas eksperimen menerapkan PMK dan kelas kontrol menerapkan pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes literasi matematis secara tertulis dan angket motivasi belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) peningkatan literasi matematis siswa yang pembelajaran dengan PMK lebih baik daripada siswa yang pembelajarannya konvensional; 2) tidak ada perbedaan peningkatan literasi matematis siswa yang pembelajarannya PMK dan siswa yang pembelajarannya konvensional pada kategori KAM tinggi dan rendah. Sedangkan pada kategori KAM sedang, peningkatan literasi matematis siswa kelas PMK lebih baik daripada siswa kelas konvensional; 3) peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa yang pembelajarannya dengan PMK lebih baik daripada siswa yang pembelajarannya konvensional.---------- This study focuses on enhancement of mathematical literacy and motivation of learn. This is a quasi experimental research with non equivalent control group design. Sample were taken by purposive sampling technique so that selected 22 experimental group students and 22 control group students from VIIIth grade of junior high school in Bandung, The experimental group was given contextual mathematics learning, while the control group was given regular learning. Test of mathematical literacy and motivation questionnaire were used as research instrument. The results show that : 1) enhancement of students’ matematical literacy with contextual mathematics learning is better than students who received regular learning; 2) enhancement of students’ matematical literacy of medium KAM category with contextual mathematics learning is better than medium KAM category of students who received regular learning. But, there is no difference on low and high KAM category; 3) enhancement of students’ motivation of learn with contextual mathematics learning better than students who received regular learning.
