Abstract

Tujuan utama penelitian ini untuk menyelidiki pencapaian dan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreatif matematis siswa serta peningkatan self-esteem matematis siswa, sebagai akibat dari model Advance Organizer dengan pendekatan saintifik dan pembelajaran biasa. Penelitian ini adalah peneltian kuasi eksperimen dengan non-equivalent control grup design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa MTs Negeri Bayah, dan pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling, yaitu dengan memilih kelas VIII sebanyak dua kelas sebagai sampel. Satu kelas sebagai kelas eksperimen yang mendapat model Advance Organizer dengan pendekatan saintifik dan satu kelas lagi sebagai kelas kontrol yang mendapat pembelajaran biasa. Instrument yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari tes kemampuan awal matematis (KAM), tes kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreatf matematis, skala self-esteem matematis, dan lembar observasi. Hasil analisis data menggunakan uji-t, uji-t’, dan uji Mann-Whitney menyimpulkan bahwa: (1) pencapaian dan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreatif matematis siswa yang mendapatkan model Advance Organizer dengan pendekatan saintifik lebih baik daripada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran biasa; (2) pencapaian dan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreatif matematis siswa yang mendapatkan model Advance Organizer dengan pendekatan saintifik lebih baik daripada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran biasa ditinjau dari KAM sedang dan rendah; (3) pencapaian dan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreatif matematis siswa yang mendapatkan model Advance Organizer dengan pendekatan saintifik tidak lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran biasa ditinjau dari KAM tinggi; (4) peningkatan self-esteem matematis siswa yang mendapatkan model Advance Organizer dengan pendekatan saintifik tidak lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran biasa ditinjau dari keseluruhan maupun dari KAM tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. ---------- The aims of this study are to examine achievement and enhancement student’s abilities of mathematical critical and creative thinking and enhancement student’s mathematical self-esteem as effect of Advance Organizer with scientific approach and reguler learning. The type of this study was quasi-experimental design with non-equivalent control group design. The population in this study were students in MTs Bayah and obtained two groups in grade VIII as samples. One class as experimental class who got Advance Organizer with scientific approach and one class who got reguler learning. Instruments of this study are prior mathematical learning test, critical and creative thinking ability test, mathematical self-esteem scale and observation. The data are analyzed by using the mean difference tests: the t-test, t’ test and Mann Whitney test found that: (1) Achievement and enhancement of mathematical critical and creative thinking abilities students who got Advance Organizer model with scientific approach is better than students who got regular learning. (2) Achievement and enhancement of mathematical critical and creative thinking abilities students who got Advance Organizer model with scientific approach is better than students who got regular learning from medium and low prior mathematical ability. (3) Achievement and enhancement of mathematical critical and creative thinking abilities students who got Advance Organizer model with scientific approach is not better than students who got regular learning from high prior mathematical ability (4) Enhancement mathematical self-esteem students who got Advance Organizer model with scientific approach is not better than students who got regular learning from whole student and prior mathematical ability (High, medium, low).
