Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dengan adanya kesulitan siswa dalam pembelajaran huruf katakana. Hal ini diperkuat dari hasil angket yang telah disebarkan pada siswa SMA PGRI 1 Bandung kelas XI IPA tahun 2015/2016, 75% mengatakan kesulitan dalam belajar huruf katakana. Dari beberapa penelitin terdahulu,dalam kemampuan menyimak (Linna & Sutjiati, 2013) dan tata bahasa (Hendra, 2011), metode resitasi dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Metode resitasi adalah penyajian bahan dimana guru memmberikan tugas tertentu agar siswa melakukan kegiatan belajar. Dalam prosesnya,siswa melakukan latihan secara intens agar pembelajar terbiasa dengan huruf katakana. Namun dengan waktu belajar dikelas yang sedikit dirasa kurang bagi siswa dalam belajar huruf katakana. oleh karena itu, metode resitasi dirasa cocok diterapkan dalam pembelajaran ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui hasil belajar katakana menggunakan metode resitasi (2) untuk mengetahui kesan siswa terhadap penerapan metode resitasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah One Group Pretest-Posttest. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA SMA PGRI 1 Bandung sebanyak 30 orang. Instrument penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes dan angket. Hasil analisis data, menunjukkan nilai mean pretest 35,63 dan nilai mean posttest adalah 82,16 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan nilai yang signifikan antara pretest dan posttest. Artinya , penerapan metode resitasi ini cukup membantu dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis katakana siswa. Sementara itu, hasil analisis angket menunjukkan sebanyak 80% siswa mengatakan metode resitasi ini bermanfaat dalam pembelajaran bahasa Jepang. ---------- This study was conducted due to the difficulties faced by the students in learning Katakana letters. A questionnaire administered to XI IPA’s students of SMA PGRI 1 Bandung (academic year 2015/2016) showed that 70 % of students faced the difficulties in learning Katakana. This was because the students were not familiar with the Katakana letters and the short learning time in the classroom. In order to solve this problem, the recitation method was used. Some previous studies such as the study to improve student’s listening ability (Linna and Sutjiati, 2013) and the study to improve students’ structure ability (Hendra, 2011) showed that this method was able to improve students’ achievement in learning. Recitation method is the teaching method where the teacher gave a certain tasks to the students for them being familiar with the letters. This study was aimed (1) to find out the students’ achievement in learning Katakana with recitation method, (2) to find out the students’ impression toward the implementation of recitation method in learning Katakana. The research method used in this study was One Group Pre-test-Post-test. The sample was taken from 30 students of Grade XI IPA at SMA PGRI 1 Bandung. The instruments used for this research were test and questionnaire. The data analysis result showed that the mean pre-test value was 35,63 and the mean post-test value was 82,16 which mean that there was a significant improvement of student’s grade before and after using the recitation method in learning Katakana. Meanwhile, the questionnaire result showed that 80% students found the recitation method was very useful in learning Japanese language especially in learning Katakana.
