Abstract

Skripsi ini berjudul “Penerapan Metode Kooperatif Teknik Student Facilitator and Explaining untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Berkomunikasi Siswa (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dalam Pembelajaran Sejarah di Kelas XI IIS 4 SMA Negeri 1 Lembang)”. Keterampilan berkomunikasi siswa dalam pembelajaran sejarah sangatlah penting untuk dikembangkan. Berdasarkan keresahan yang terjadi selama pembelajaran sejarah berlangsung, terlihat kemampuan berkomunikasi siswa masih rendah. Indikasi tersebut ditunjukkan dari keberanian bertanya, berargumen atau menyampaikan gagasan siswa yang belum sesuai dengan harapan. Dari keresahan tersebut maka peneliti merumusan beberapa permasalah yang diambil dalam penelitian ini diantaranya: pertama, bagaimana merencanakan pembelajaran sejarah dengan menerapkan teknik student facilitator and explaining untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berkomunikasi siswa. Kedua, bagaimana melaksanakan teknik student facilitator and explaining untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berkomunikasi siswa. Ketiga, bagaimana hasil penerapan teknik student facilitator and explaining. Keempat, bagaimana upaya mengatasi kendala-kendala yang muncul dalam penerapan teknik student facilitator and explaining. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berkomunikasi siswa dalam pembelajaran sejarah. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan menggunakan desain penelitian dari Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart. Berdasarkan analisis data yang telah dilakukan, perkembangan siswa dalam mencapai kriteria indikator kemampuan berkomunikasi yang telah ditentukan mengalami peningkatan pada setiap siklusnya. Aspek-aspek yang diteliti dari keterampilan berkomunikasi yaitu keberanian menyampaikan ide/ gagasan sesuai topik, informasi yang diberikan jelas dan dapat dimengerti oleh komunikan, menyimak dengan baik ketika siswa lain sedang berpendapat, tidak takut untuk menentukan sikap dan mempertahankannya, serta memiliki keberanian bertanya sesuai topik. Perolehan skor masing-masing indikator pada setiap siklusnya mengalami peningkatan yang baik, hal ini menunjukkan keberhasilan dari penerapan teknik student facilitator and explainig untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berkomunikasi siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan hendaknya teknik student facilitator and explaining senantiasa dijadikan suatu alternatif solusi untuk menghadapai masalah pembelajaran yang ada di kelas, terutama mengenai kemampuan berkomunikasi.---------- This final exercise entitled "Implementation Methods of Cooperative, Techniques Student Facilitator and Explaining to Improve Communication Skill Students (Classroom Action Research in Teaching History at Class XI IIS 4, 1 Senior High School, Lembang)". Communication skill of students in learning history is very important to developed. Based on the restlessness that occurred during the learning of history in progress, visible communication skill of students is still low. The indication is shown on the courage to ask, argue or convey the idea of students who haven’t been in line with expectations. The restlessness of the researcher to formulate some problems were taken in this study are: first, how to plan the teaching of history by applying techniques student facilitator and explaining to improve communication skill of students. Second, how to implement student facilitator and explaining techniques to improve the communication skill of students. Third, how the application of student facilitator and explaining techniques. Fourth, how the efforts to overcome the obstacles that arise in the application of student facilitator and explaining techniques. This study aims to improve the communication skill of students in the teaching of history. This study used a technique classroom action research (PTK) using the design study by Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. Based on data analysis that has been done, student progress in achieving the indicator criteria predetermined communication skill increased in each cycle. The aspects studied of communication skill is the courage to convey an ideas fit the topic, the information provided is clear and understandable by the communicant, listen well when other students are being argued, is not afraid to take a stand and defend it, and have the courage to ask the appropriate topic, Acquisition score of each indicator on each cycle to increase the good, it demonstrates the success of the application of student facilitator and explaining techniques to improve communication skill of students. Based on the result of this research, conducted student facilitator and explaining techniques should always be used as an alternative solutions to face the problem of learning in the classroom, particularly regarding the ability to communicate.
