Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pembelajaran IPA Terpadu tipe Integrated terhadap penguasaan konsep dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada topik Tekanan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen yang dilakukan di salah satu SMP Negeri di Kota Bandung Provinsi Jawa Barat dengan sampel siswa kelas VIII semester 2 pada tahun ajaran 2014/2015. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pretest dan posttest untuk mengukur peningkatan penguasaan konsep dan keterampilan berpikir kritis, lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dan angket tanggapan untuk mengetahui tanggapan siswa terhadap penerapan pembelajaran IPA Terpadu tipe Integrated. Uji hipotesis dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji-t pada N-Gain penguasaan konsep dan keterampilan berpikir kritis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran IPA Terpadu tipe Integrated pada topik Tekanan secara signifikan lebih meningkatkan penguasaan konsep dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dibandingkan dengan penerapan pembelajaran IPA tidak terpadu. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari N-Gain penguasaan konsep untuk kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,40, sedangkan untuk kelas kontrol sebesar 0,28. N-Gain keterampilan berpikir kritis kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,41 lebih tinggi dibandingkan N-Gain kelas kontrol sebesar 0,19. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran IPA Terpadu tipe Integrated lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan penguasaan konsep dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa SMP pada topik Tekanan dibandingkan dengan penerapan pembelajaran IPA tidak terpadu. The methods used in this study were quasi-experimental designs which were conducted at a junior high school on Bandung City, in West Java Province. The sampling of this study was eighth grades of second semester in 2014/2015. The data were collected by using pretest and posttest to measure the improvement of the students’ content knowledge and critical thinking skills, observation sheet, and questioner to understand students’ responses on the implementation of integrative science learning type integrated. The hypothesis testing in this study was done by using t-test on students’ content knowledge and critical thinking skills. The result revealed that the implementation of integrative science learning type integrated on the topic of pressure improved students’ content knowledge and critical thinking skills compared to conventional science learning. This can be seen from the N-Gain of students’ content knowledge in the experimental group which was 0,40, while 0,28 for control group. The N-Gain of students’ critical thinking skills in the experimental group was 0,41, which was higher than that in the control group, which was 0,19. It can be concluded that the implementation of integrative science learning type integrated on the topic of pressure is more effective to improve students’ content knowledge and critical thinking skills compared to the implementation conventional science learning.
