Abstract
Penelitian ini didasarkan pada temuan penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Sidik pada tahun 2014 mengenai analisis proses berpikir dalam pemahaman matematis siswa SD di salah satu sekolah yang menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemahaman matematis subjek umumnya masih lemah. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan apakah data peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman matematis dan self-confidence siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model Problem-Based Learning dengan metode Heuristik (PBLmH) lebih baik dari pada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model Direct Instruction(DI). Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu quasi-experimentspre- and posttest design. Subjek penelitian (sampel) adalah siswa kels V di salah satu SD N di kecamatan Ciasem. Data penelitian kemampuan pemahaman matematis dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen tes, sedangkan dataself-confidence menggunakan skala sikap. Analisis data menggunakan statistik non-parametrik dengan uji-U Mann Withney. Hal ini dikarenakan data tidak berdistribusi normal. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu: Peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model PBLmH lebih baik dari pada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model DI. Peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman matematis dengan menerapkan model PBLmH berada pada kriteria sedang; dan peningkatan self-confidence siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model PBLmH sama dengan siswa yang yang mendapat pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model DI. Peningkatan self-confidence dengan menerapkan modelPBLmHdan DI berada pada kriteria rendah. Kata kunci: pemahaman matematis, self-confidence, Problem-Based Learning The study was based on the findings of research conducted by Sidik in 2014 on the analysis of mathematical thought process in the understanding of elementary school students in one of the schools that showed that the ability of understanding mathematical subjects generally still weak. The purpose of this study is to describe whether the data increase understanding of mathematical ability and self-confidence of students who get learning by applying the model of Problem-Based Learning by Heuristic method (PBLmH) better than the students who had learning by applying the model of Direct Instruction (DI ). The method used is quasi-experiments pre- and posttest. Subject of the study (sample) is kels V students in one elementary school in the district N Ciasem. The research data were collected using a mathematical understanding of the ability of test instruments, and self-confidence while using attitude scale. Statistical data analysis using non-parametric Mann Whitney U test. This is because the data is not normally distributed. Results from this study are: Improved understanding of mathematical ability of students who receive learning by applying the model PBLmH better than the students who get learning by applying DI models. Increased ability to apply mathematical understanding PBLmH models currently on the criteria being; and increased self-confidence of students who received a model of learning by applying the same PBLmH with students who are learning to apply the model gets DI.
