Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan literasi sains dan kepercayaan diri siswa melalui pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing serta mengetahui hubungan literasi sains dan kepercayaan diri siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan “nonequivalent control group design” dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 24 Kabupaten Tangerang kelas XI-IPA pada tahun ajaran 2012/2013. Subjek penelitian dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 77 siswa yang dibagi ke dalam 39 siswa kelompok eksperimen dan 38 siswa kelompok kontrol. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes awal dan tes akhir literasi sains dan kepercayaan diri siswa, serta lembar observasi, angket siswa, angket guru, wawancara siswa dan wawancara guru. Data dianalisis dengan Independent T-Test dan Uji Mann-Whitney serta Uji Korelasi Product Moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dapat meningkatkan literasi sains dan kepercayaan diri siswa. Rerata N-Gain literasi sains pada kelompok eksperimen sebesar 0,39 (sedang) dan kelompok kontrol sebesar 0,43 (sedang) dan Rerata N-Gain kepercayaan diri siswa kelompok eksperimen sebesar 0,07 dan kelompok kontrol sebesar 0,15. Hasilnya tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara rerata literasi sains dan kepercayaan diri siswa kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol dan tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara literasi sains dan kepercayaan diri siswa kelompok eksperimen. Guru maupun siswa memberikan tanggapan yang positif terhadap pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing pada konsep larutan asam basa. Tanggapan guru terhadap pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing baik sekali dengan persentase rata-rata skor angket sebesar 80,56% dan tanggapan siswa terhadap pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing baik dengan persentase rata-rata skor angket sebesar 78,11%. This study aims to determine the increasing scientific literacy and self-confidence of students by learning guided inquiry and determine the relationship of science literacy and self-confidence of students. The research method used was quasi-experimental with "nonequivalent control group design", and was implemented in SMA Negeri 24 Tangerang class XI-IPA in the academic year 2012/2013. Research subjects in this study consisted of 77 students who were divided into 39 students of experimental group and 38 students of control group. Data were collected through the initial test and final test of scientific literacy test and also from students confidence test, as well as observation sheets, student questionnaires, teacher questionnaires, student interviews and teacher interviews. Data were analyzed by Independent T-Test and Mann-Whitney Test and Correlation Product Moment Test. The results showed that the guided inquiry learning can improve science literacy and self-confidence of students. The mean N-Gain of scientific literacy in the experiment group is 0.39 (medium) and control group is 0.43 (medium), the mean N-Gain self-confidence of experimental class is 0.07 and control class is 0.15. It can be concluded there was no significant difference between the average science literacy and self-confidence of experimental group and control group and there was no significant relationship between scientific literacy and self-confidence of experimental group students. Teachers and students responded positively to the guided inquiry learning of acid-bases solution concept. Teacher's response to guided inquiry learning very well with the average percentage score of 80.56% and the questionnaire responses of students towards guided inquiry learning well with the average percentage score of the questionnaire was 78.11%.
