Abstract

Penulis memilih orangutan untuk direpresentasikan dalam bentuk lukisan, orangutan merupakan primata asli Indonesia yang tersebar di Sumatera dan Kalimantan. Dewasa ini populasi primata yang dilindungi ini cukup memprihatinkan. Banyak kasus yang menggambarkan kehidupan orangutan yang harus diungkap, soal deforestasi hingga perburuan liar. Penulis membagi rumusan masalah menjadi dua, yaitu rumusan masalah pertama adalah bagaimana mengembangkan gagasan berkarya seni lukis berdasarkan tema orangutan sebagai gagasan dalam karya seni lukis realis, sedangkan yang kedua yaitu bagaimana visualisasi lukisan dengan tema orangutan sebagai gagasan dalam karya seni lukis realis. Skripsi penciptaan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pesan kepada semua masyarakat bahwa Indonesia merupakan negeri yang kaya akan keanekaragaman hayati, khususnya orangutan yang kini populasinya kian terancam karena beberapa faktor tersebut. Selain itu untuk memberikan stimulus kepada masyarakat akan pentingnya menjaga alam dan satwa-satwa agar tetap hidup lestari. Dalam penciptaan ini penulis melewati tahap metode penciptaan seperti ide, stimulasi, kontemplasi, berkarya seni lukis, karya seni lukis realis dan diakhiri dengan apresiasi. Pada karya penciptaan ini penulis menciptakan tiga buah karya lukis realis dengan konsep yang berbeda, yaitu karya pertama menggambarkan suasana habitat orangutan yang porak-poranda akibat deforestasi, karya kedua menggambarkan kasus penyelundupan bayi orangutan dan karya terakhir yang menggambarkan bentuk perlawanan orangutan terhadap pihak-pihak yang melakukan deforestasi. Ketiga karya ini didominasi warna-warna hangat dan warna polikhromatik, dengan penggunaan struktur lukis yang sama, seperti repetition extremum, bay formation, outer and inner shape dan focus on the left and the right. Ketiga karya ini dibuat dalam posisi center dengan didominasi oleh garis lengkung. Karya pertama dan kedua berukuran 200 cm x 150 cm, sedangkan karya terakhir berukuran 160 cm x 150 cm. Ketiga karya lukis ini diharapkan dapat bermanfaat bagi semua orang dan dapat dijadikan motivasi dan inspirasi. The author chose orangutanas representation of painting, as a native primate in Indonesia, which exists in Sumatra and Kalimantan. Currently, the population of this protected primate is quite alarming. Many cases that depicts the lives of orangutans should be disclosed, which caused by problems such as deforestation and illegal hunting. The author divide the formulas of the problem into two, the first problem is how to develop the idea of the work of art based on the theme of orangutans as the ideas in realist paintings, while the second is how the visualization of the paintings in which the theme of orangutan as main ideas in realist painting. The Theses aims to give a message to the people that Indonesia is a country which has rich biodiversity, especially orangutan, which depopulated due to several factor. In addition to give the stimulus to the public that protecting the nature, including animals in order to survive sustainably is very important. In this artwork, the writer passed the stage of the method for creating such ideas, stimulation, contemplation, works of art, realist paintings and an ends with appreciation. On this paper the author includes three realist paintings with different concept, the first work depicts the atmosphere of orangutan habite that ravaged by deforestation, the second work depicts both works which illustrate the smuggling of orangutan babies and the last work which depicts orangutan as a form of resistance against those who responsible on deforestation. The three works dominated by warm colors and polikhromatik color, with the use of the same painting structure, such as repetition extremum, bay formation, outer and inner shape and focus on the left and the right. The three works was made in the center position is dominated by curved lines. The first and second works measuring 200 cm x 150 cm, while the last works measuring 160 cm x 150 cm. The three paintings expected to be useful for everyone as motivation and inspiration.
