Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis dan kebiasaan berpikir metakognitif siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran biasa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain kelompok kontrol non ekivalen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X salah satu SMA Negeri di Riau tahun pelajaran 2013/2014. Sampel penelitian diambil dua kelas yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pada kelas kontrol dilaksanakan pembelajaran biasa dan pada kelas eksperimen dilaksanakan pembelajaran berbasis masalah. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah instrumen tes dan non tes. Instrumen tes berupa soal tes kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis dan instrumen non tes berupa skala kebiasaan berpikir metakognitif dan lembar observasi. Analisis hasil penelitian menggunakan beberapa software yaitu Microsoft Excel 2007, Anates Ver. 4, Stat 97 and SPSS Ver.16. Analisis data menggunakan uji-t, uji-t’, ANOVA Satu Jalur, dan uji korelasi Product Moment Pearson. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis dan kebiasaan berpikir metakognitif siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran berbasis masalah lebih baik dari pada siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran biasa. Peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran berbasis masalah lebih baik dari pada siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran biasa. Ditinjau dari kemampuan awal matematis siswa, terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran berbasis masalah, namun tidak terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kebiasaan berpikir metakognitif siswa. Selanjutnya terdapat korelasi yang positif antara kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis dan kebiasaan berpikir metakognitif. Kata kunci : Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Matematis, Kebiasaan Berpikir Metakognitif, Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah. This research aims to investigate difference of students’ mathematical critical thinking ability and habit of metacognition using problem based learning approach and conventional learning. This Research was quasi experimental research with non-equivalent control group design. The population of this research are all of tenth grade students in SMA Negeri 1 Rambah Samo year 2013/2014. Two classes was chosen from the population as research sample that are experiment group and control group using purposive sampling technique. Conventional learning was implemented in control group, while problem based learning approach was implemented in experiment group. The instruments that used in this research are test and non test instrument. The test instrument was mathematical critical thinking ability test, while the non test instruments were habit of metacognition scale and observation sheet. Analyzing of research results is done using many Softwares, Microsoft Excel 2007, Anates Ver. 4, Stat 97 and SPSS Ver.16. Analyzing of data by t-test, t’-test, One Ways ANOVA and Product Moment Pearson Correlation test. The research results indicate that the students’ mathematical critical thinking ability and habit of metacognition using problem based learning approach is better than using conventional learning, the gain of students’ mathematical critical thinking ability using problem based learning approach is better than using conventional learning, there are significant differences in the gain of students’ mathematical critical thinking ability who get problem based learning approach but there is no significant differences in the gain of students’ habit of metacognition who get problem based learning approach based on the students’ mathematical prior knowledge, and there is a positive correlation between students’ mathematical critical thinking ability and students’ habit of metacognition.
