Abstract

Penelitian ini berangkat dari semakin ketatnya kompetisi dan revolusi informasi serta meningkatnya perubahan-perubahan disegala dimensi kehidupan yang menuntut peranan pendidikan dalam proses pembelajaran yang dapat mendorong peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran dalam menyiapkan para siswa untuk dapat menghadapinya.Siswa juga diharapkan agar dapat dan mampu berkompetisi serta memiliki pemikiran dan tindakan kreatif dalam memecahkan berbagai persoalan yang muncul. Adapun yang menjadi rumusan masalah penelitian ini yaitu: (1) Bagaimana kondisi awal pembelajaran IPS di MTs Negeri Kota Palembang, (2) Bagaimana implementasi model pembelajaran sinektik yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS di MTs Negeri Kota Palembang (3) Bagaimanakah efektivitas implementasi model pembelajaran sinektik dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana model pembelajaran IPS berbasis sinektik untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa di MTs Negeri Kota Palembang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode naturalistik inkuiri. Teknik pengumpulan datanya dengan observasi, wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) kondisi awal pembelajaran IPS di MTs Kota Palembang yang berlangsung selama ini masih konvensional, artinya guru dalam menyampaikan materi pembelajaran masih dengan metode ceramah,dan pembelajaran masih terfokus kepada guru. Dominannya guru dalam proses pembelajaran bahkan tidak ada kesempatan untuk siswa dalam mengeluarkan ide/gagasan seolah pembelajaran terjadi hanya satu arah (one way communication) yakni dari guru ke siswa saja tidak terjadi komunikasi timbal balik (two way communication), dan selalu menjelaskan dari buku paket, tetapi materi pembelajaran tetap disesuaikan dengan kurikulum yang berlaku. (2) Hasil dari implementasi model pembelajaran sinektik menunjukkan bahwa dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran yang berdasarkan tahap-tahap pembelajaran sinektik memiliki kontribusi yang cukup besar dalam hal meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa. (3) Hasil penelitian berdasarkan tahap-tahap model pembelajaran sinektik ini terbukti sangat efektif, siswa menjadi lebih mampu mengembangkan pikiran kreatifnya dalam menjawab pertanyaan dan permasalahan dengan menggunakan ide yang orisinal dari hasil pemikiran siswa sendiri. artinya juga efektif untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pembelajaran siswa, serta memiliki kemampuan untuk memperbaiki kinerja guru sehingga secara keseluruhan dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran sinektik efektif untuk memperbaiki kualitas belajar mengajar. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan bahwa: kepala sekolah, guru, dan siswa secara khusus, hendaknya menerapkan model pembelajaran sinektik untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa. This study is inspired by the high competitiveness and information revolution which is also in line with the changes in many walks of lives. It all effects the active role of education, especially in the process of learning which is expected to be able to advance the readiness of students to deal with it. Students are expected to be able to compete and creatively think and respond when facing problems. The research questions are as follow: (1) What is the social science learning situations at the MTs Negeri Kota Palembang? (2) How is the implementation of synectic learning model that can enhance students ability of creative thinking in the field of Social Sciences at the MTs Negeri Kota Palembang? (3) How effective is the impelementation of synectic learning model in enhancing students creative thinking ability. The objective of this study is to find out how far the synactic learning model in the field of Sociel Sciences may influence the students’ ability in creative thinking in MTs Negeri Kota Palembang. This study explores the naturalistic enquiry methods with qualitative approach. The data is collected through observation, interview and library reaserch.The study shows: (1) Social sciences learning in MTs Kota Palembang has been exploring conventional methods of learing. That means that when teaching, teachers are still using lecturing methods and the learning is still teacher oriented. The teachers are so dominant that students almost have no time to explore further about what have been being learnt. The learning tends to be one way communication. Furthermore, teachers depend highly on the text book when explaining thins to students. Nevertheless, learning topics are still relevant with the curriculum. (2) The implementation of synectic learning model then shows a significant contribution to the enhancement of the students’ creative thinking ability in the process of teaching and learning. (3) The study shows that the stages used in synectic learning model can highly explore students’ creative thinking in genuinely responding to questions and problems faced. That also means that this model is effective for not only helping students to learn but also assisting teachers to effectively teach. All in all, this model can improve the process of teaching and learning significantly. Thus, it is recommended that principles, teachers, and students use this synectic learning models if optimally exploring students’ ability in creative thinking is the objective of learning.
