Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi hasil pra penelitian yang dilakukan di kelas X-2 SMA KHZ Musthafa Sukamanah yang mengalami permasalahan dalam proses pembelajaran. Permasalahan tersebut adalah rendahnya keterampilan kewarganegaraan (civic skills) siswa ketika pembelajaran PKn. Hal tersebut terjadi karena guru menggunakan metode yang konvensional sehingga siswa menjadi jenuh dan ketika proses pembelajaran berlangsung sebagian siswa bersikap pasif. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, maka peneliti menerapkan model Cooperative Learning tipe Think Pair Share. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana persiapan, pelaksanaan, peningkatan, kendala, dan upaya dalam menerapkan model Cooperative Learning tipe Think Pair Share pada pembelajaran PKn. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X-2 SMA KHZ Musthafa Sukamanah yang berjumlah 26 orang. Pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, angket, dokumentasi, dan catatan lapangan. Analisis data dengan penyeleksian atau pengelompokan data, validasi data, dan interpretasi data. Adapun hasil penelitian yang diperoleh yaitu: 1) Persiapan pembelajaran yang dilakukan guru yaitu menyiapkan silabus, RPP, materi, metode, media, dan alat penilaian. 2) Penerapan metode think pair share dilaksanakan dengan baik oleh guru dan diterapkan sesuai dengan langkah-langkah yang benar. Siswa berpikir sendiri mengenai permasalahan yang diberikan oleh guru selama beberapa menit, kemudian berpasangan dan mendiskusikan apa yang diperoleh masing-masing, setelah itu setiap pasangan berbagi dengan keseluruhan kelas mengenai permasalahan yang telah didiskusikan. 3) Peningkatan keterampilan kewarganegaraan (civic skills) setelah diterapkan metode think pair share meningkat. Hasil observasi aktivitas siswa pada siklus I menunjukkan 59% dengan kategori “baik”, siklus II menunjukkan 64% dengan kategori “baik”, dan siklus III, menunjukkan 85% dengan kategori “sangat baik”. 4) Kendala yang dihadapi oleh guru adalah dalam pengelolaan kelas, membimbing diskusi, dan memotivasi siswa. 5) Upaya mengatasi kendala tersebut adalah guru meningkatkan keterampilan dalam mengelola kelas, membimbing diskusi, dan memotivasi siswa. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model Cooperative Learning tipe Think Pair Share mampu meningkatkan keterampilan kewarganegaraan (civic skills) siswa. Model ini direkomendasikan sebagai alternatif model yang efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan kewarganegaraan (civic skills) dalam pembelajaran PKn. This research is motivated results of research conducted in the class X-2 High School KHZ Mustafa Sukamanah experiencing problems in the learning process. The problem is the lack of skills of citizenship (civic skills) students when learning civics. This happens because the teachers using conventional methods so that students become saturated and when the learning process takes most students to be passive. To overcome these problems, the researchers applied a model of Cooperative Learning Type Think Pair Share. This study aims to determine how the preparation, implementation, enhancement, constraints, and effort in implementing cooperative learning models of type Think Pair Share on civics lesson. This study uses qualitative and quantitative approaches, the method of Classroom Action Research (CAR). Subjects were students of class X-2 High School KHZ Mustafa Sukamanah totaling 26 people. The collection of data through observation, interviews, questionnaires, documentation, and field notes. Analysis of the data by selecting or grouping of data, data validation, and interpretation of data. The research results obtained are: 1) Preparation of learning that teachers are preparing syllabi, lesson plans, materials, methods, media, and assessment tools. 2) Application of the method think pair share executed well by teachers and implemented in accordance with the correct steps. Students think for themselves about the issues assigned by the teacher for a few minutes, then in pairs and discuss what each is obtained, after which each pair to share with the whole class about the issues that have been discussed. 3) Improving the skills of citizenship (civic skills) after application of the method think pair share increases. The results of observations of student activity in the first cycle showed 59% with "good" category, the second cycle showed 64% with "good" category, and the third cycle, showed 85% to the category of "very good". 4) Constraints faced by the teacher is in the classroom management, guiding discussion, and motivate students. 5) Efforts to overcome these obstacles is the teachers improve their skills in managing the classroom, guiding discussion, and motivate students. It can be concluded that the cooperative learning model of type Think Pair Share is able to improve the skills of citizenship (civic skills) students and effectively applied in learning civics. This model is recommended as an alternative to effective model to improve the skills of citizenship (civic skills) in a civics lesson.
