Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik siswa SMP yang rendah. Padahal kemampuan ini sangatlah penting dalam matematika. Oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan upaya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan tersebut. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan adalah pembelajaran dengan model Anchored Instruction. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model Anchored Instruction terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik siswa secara signifikan dan untuk mengetahui sikap siswa terhadap model Anchored Instruction. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Pre- Experimental Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa-siswi kelas VII di salah satu SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Bandung Barat tahun ajaran 2013/2014. Sampel yang diambil berupa dua kelas yang keduanya mendapatkan perlakuan yang sama. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, angket dan lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan model Anchored Instruction berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik. Selain itu, hampir seluruh siswa memberikan respon positif terhadap model Anchored Instruction. Kata kunci : kemampuan pemecahan masalah, model Anchored Instruction This research is motivated by mathematical problem solving ability junior high school students are low. In fact, this ability is very important in mathematics. Therefore, efforts should be made to improve those skills. One effort to do is study the model of Anchored Instruction. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the use of models Anchored Instruction to the increase in mathematical problem-solving ability of students significantly and to determine students' attitudes toward models of Anchored Instruction. The method used in this study is the Pre-Experimental Design. The population in this study were all students of class VII in one of the Junior High School in West Bandung regency academic year 2013/2014. Samples taken in the form of two classes that both get the same treatment. The instrument used is an instrument of mathematical problem solving ability tests, questionnaires and observation sheets. The results showed that the use of the model Anchored Instruction affect the improvement of mathematical problem solving ability. In addition, almost all of the students responded positively to the model Anchored Instruction. Keywords: problem solving ability, models Anchored Instruction
