Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan anak dalam menguasai kosakata bahasa Sunda serta ketidakmampuan anak berkomunikasi dengan bahasa Sunda. Kondisi tersebut disebabkan oleh jarangnya penggunaan bahasa Sunda baik di lingkungan rumah maupun di sekolah, serta keterbatasan media pembelajaran yang dapat memfasilitasi anak dalam kegiatan belajar di sekolah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata bahasa Sunda, khususnya kosakata anggota tubuh, benda, dan kata kerja, melalui metode bercerita dengan media wayang kertas. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan secara kolaboratif bersama guru kelas dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 13 anak kelompok B. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi kegiatan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam penguasaan kosakata bahasa Sunda melalui penerapan metode bercerita dengan media wayang kertas. Pada kondisi awal, seluruh anak (13 anak) berada pada kategori Belum Berkembang (BB). Setelah penerapan metode bercerita dengan media wayang kertas, sebanyak 84% atau 11 dari 13 anak mencapai kategori Berkembang Sesuai Harapan (BSH). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode bercerita dengan media wayang kertas dapat dilaksanakan sebagai variasi serta strategi alternatif kegiatan pembelajaran dalam mengembangkan kemampuan penguasaan kosakata bahasa Sunda daerah pada anak usia dini. This research was motivated by the low ability of children to master Sundanese vocabulary and their inability to communicate in Sundanese. This condition is caused by the rare use of the Sundanese language both at home and at school, as well as the limited learning media that can facilitate children's learning activities in school. The purpose of this research is to improve the mastery of Sundanese vocabulary, especially vocabulary related to body parts, objects, and verbs, through the storytelling method using paper puppet media. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR), which was carried out collaboratively with the class teacher in two cycles. The research subjects were 13 children from group B. Data collection techniques included interviews, observation, and documentation of learning activities. The results showed a significant increase in the mastery of Sundanese vocabulary through the application of the storytelling method with paper puppet media. In the initial condition, all children (13 children) were in the Not Yet Developed (BB) category. After implementing the storytelling method with paper puppet media, 84% or 11 out of 13 children reached the Developing as Expected (BSH) category. Based on these results, the implementation of the storytelling method with paper puppet media can be used as a variation and an alternative strategy for learning activities to develop Sundanese vocabulary mastery in early childhood.
