Abstract
Background this skripsi is lack of skill reading comprehension at students. One of reading material x class at 2013 curriculum with to understand the content of that reading. Researcher use story mapping method in teaching reading comprehension. This research is kuasi eksperiment with eksperiment class and control class. This research has three formulation of the problem is: (1) How skill reading comprehension students before and after use story mapping method?, (2) How skill reading comprehension students at control class before and after students use his method is given by the teacher, (3) What significant different at students skill in teach reading comprehension of eksperiment class and control class. The goal this research for to know skill reading comprehension between control class and eksperiment class. Skill students in reading comprehension is relatively low. This fact can see value average class canot to KKM. First average eksperiment class 55,57 and in control class is 59,66. After eksperimen class is given story mapping method at reading learn, so velue average eksperiment class increase 67,12 whereas control class is use discus method has 52,97. Based on the processing of data by t tes is result significant velue tcompute(2,048) and ttabel(1,995) on confident value 95% with dk 68. It show that Ha can be received, contained different is significant between before and after story mapping method is used in read learning. Key word : story mapping method, reading comprehension, and SMA students
