Abstract
Masa remaja ditandai dengan tugas perkembangan untuk memantapkan nilai dan cara bertingkah laku yang dapat diterima dalam kehidupan sosial yang lebih luas, serta mencapai kematangan hubungan dengan teman sebaya. Remaja pada umumnya memiliki cara pandang dan preferensi tertentu terhadap interaksi sosial sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan motivasi mereka. Ketidaksesuaian antara keinginan untuk berinteraksi dengan kemampuan atau keberanian dalam melakukannya dapat memunculkan kecenderungan social withdrawal, yakni perilaku menarik diri secara konsisten dari interaksi sosial meskipun lingkungannya mendukung keterlibatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan gambaran kecenderungan social withdrawal peserta didik kelas X SMA Kartika XIX-2 Bandung dan implikasinya bagi layanan bimbingan dan konseling bidang layanan sosial. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif dengan instrumen Emerging Adult Social Preference Scale-Revised (EASPS-R) yang telah dimodifikasi sesuai konteks remaja Indonesia. Populasi penelitian melibatkan seluruh peserta didik kelas X dengan teknik sampling jenuh dan desain cross-sectional survey. Analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif untuk memperoleh gambaran social withdrawal secara umum, berdasarkan subtipe, dan jenis kelamin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proporsi social approach behavior sedikit lebih tinggi dibandingkan social withdrawal. Berdasarkan subtipe, kecenderungan social withdrawal paling banyak ditemukan pada unsociability, diikuti shyness, sedangkan pada avoidance mayoritas peserta didik menunjukkan kecenderungan social withdrawal paling sedikit. Berdasarkan jenis kelamin, peserta didik perempuan lebih banyak menunjukkan social approach behavior dibandingkan laki-laki, meskipun selisihnya tidak besar. Temuan ini menjadi dasar perumusan rancangan layanan bimbingan sosial untuk mereduksi kecederungan social withdrawal. Adolescence is characterized by developmental tasks that include consolidating values and behaviors acceptable in a broader social context, as well as achieving maturity in peer relationships. Adolescents generally possess specific perspectives and preferences toward social interaction according to their needs and motivations. A mismatch between the desire to engage socially and the ability or confidence to do so can lead to a tendency toward social withdrawal, consistent disengagement from social interaction despite a supportive environment. This study aims to describe the profile of social withdrawal tendencies among Grade X students at SMA Kartika XIX-2 Bandung and its implications for guidance and counseling services in the social domain. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method using the Emerging Adult Social Preference Scale-Revised (EASPS-R), which was modified to suit the context of Indonesian adolescents. The study population comprised all Grade X students, using a saturated sampling technique and a cross-sectional survey design. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to obtain an overview of social withdrawal in general, by subtype, and by gender. The results indicate that social approach behavior was slightly more prevalent than social withdrawal Among the subtypes, social withdrawal was most prevalent in unsociability, followed by shyness, whereas avoidance showed the lowest tendency of social withdrawal among students. In terms of gender, female students exhibited more social approach behavior than male students, although the difference was minimal. These findings serve as the basis for developing a social guidance service design aimed at reducing social withdrawal tendencies.
