Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh peran penting kecerdasan emosional dalam membantu remaja menghadapi tantangan dan tekanan di masa transisi yang ditandai oleh perubahan fisik, kognitif, dan emosional yang cepat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh gambaran kecerdasan emosional murid kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Bandung serta menyusun layanan dasar di bidang pribadi-sosial untuk mengembangkannya. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei dan desain deskriptif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah murid kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Bandung Tahun Ajaran 2024/2025, dengan teknik pengambilan sampel convenience sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen kecerdasan emosi yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar murid memiliki kecerdasan emosional pada kategori strength, sedangkan sisanya termasuk dalam kategori needs attention. Berdasarkan analisis per dimensi, kesadaran diri, motivasi, empati, dan keterampilan sosial berada pada kategori strength, sedangkan pengaturan diri berada pada kategori needs attention. Temuan ini menjadi dasar penyusunan layanan dasar pribadi-sosial yang difokuskan untuk mengembangkan kecerdasan emosional. This research is motivated by the important role of emotional intelligence in helping adolescents cope with challenges and pressures during the transitional period, which is marked by rapid physical, cognitive, and emotional changes. The purpose of this study is to describe the emotional intelligence of tenth-grade students at Bandung Senior High School 1 and to design basic personal-social services to foster its development. The study employed a quantitative approach with a survey method and descriptive design. The population consisted of tenth-grade students of Bandung Senior High School 1 in the 2024/2025 academic year, with sampling conducted using a convenience sampling technique. Data were collected through an emotional intelligence instrument that had been tested for validity and reliability. The findings reveal that the majority of students fall into the strength category of emotional intelligence, while the remaining students are classified into the needs attention category. Further analysis by dimension indicates that self-awareness, motivation, empathy, and social skills are in the strength category, whereas self-regulation is categorized as needs attention. These findings serve as the foundation for designing basic personal-social services focused on developing students’ emotional intelligence.
