    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh kurangnya kemampuan menulis siswa dalam pembelajaran menulis teks biografi serta tidak adanya inovasi – inovasi baru yang bisa menumbuhkan semangat siswa dalam pembelajaran menulis teks biografi. Dilihat dari hal tersebut, perlu adanya penelitian mengenai menulis teks biografi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan awal siswa sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan model project based learning. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitaif dengan metode kuasi eksperimen pada siswa Fase F MA Ar – Rahman Cikalongwetan . Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, menghasilkan tiga hal. Pertama, kemampuan awal siswa sebelum dilakukan model project based learning termasuk dalam kategori “Cukup” terlihat dari hasil berdasarkan aspek nilai siswa mempunyai rata – rata 54,26. Kedua, kemampuan ahir siswa sesudah dilakukan model project based learning termasuk dalam kategori “Sangat Baik” terlihat dari hasil berdasarkan aspek nilai siswa mempunyai rata – rata 81,10. Ketiga, berdasarkan hasil uji tes, uji normalitas, dan uji hipotesis penelitian ini mempunyai perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan menulis téks biografi siswa sebelum dan sesudah digunakan model project based learning. Oleh sebab itu, model project based learning ini efektif untuk digunakan pada pembelajaran menulis teks biografi. This research is motivated by the lack of students' writing skills in learning to write biography texts and the absence of new innovations that can foster students' enthusiasm in learning to write biography texts. Judging from this, there is a need for research on writing biography texts. The purpose of this study was to determine the initial ability of students before and after the project-based learning model. This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method on Phase F students of MA Ar-Rahman Cikalongwetan. Based on the results of the study, it resulted in three things. First, the initial ability of students before the project-based learning model is included in the “Enough” category seen from the results based on the aspects of student scores have an average of 54.26. Second, the final ability of students after the project-based learning model is included in the “Very Good” category as seen from the results based on the aspects of student scores having an average of 81.10. Third, based on the results of the test, normality test, and hypothesis test, this study has a significant difference between the ability to write biographical téks of students before and after using the project-based learning model. Therefore, the project-based learning model is effective to be used in learning to write biography texts. Katilu, dumasar kana hasil uji tés, uji normalitas, jeung uji hipotésis dina ieu panalungtikan aya béda anu signifikan antara kamampuh saméméh jeung sabada dilarapkeun modél project based learning.
