Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan menemukan kalimat utama pada pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia di kelas V SD. Salah satu faktor penyebabnya adalah model dan teknik pembelajaran yang kurang bervariasi serta tidak terdapat panduan terstruktur dalam penyampaian materi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) dengan teknik temukan inti, pahami ulang untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menemukan kalimat utama pada pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pre-eksperimen one group pretest-posttest. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 29 peserta didik kelas V di salah satu SD di Kota Bandung. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes berbentuk 15 soal pilihan ganda dan 5 soal esai yang mengacu pada indikator kemampuan menemukan kalimat utama. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada nilai posttest dibanding pretest, dengan uji Paired Sample T-test menunjukkan nilai signifikan < 0,05. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa model Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) dengan teknik temukan inti, pahami ulang efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menemukan kalimat utama. Temuan ini merekomendasikan penerapan teknik pembelajaran yang memuat panduan terstruktur dalam pembelajaran menemukan kalimat utama di sekolah dasar. This study is motivated by the low ability of fifth-grade elementary school students to find the main sentence in Indonesian language learning. One of the causes is the lack of variation in learning models and techniques, as well as the absence of structured guidance in delivering the material. This study aims to describe the effectiveness of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model combined with the Find the Main Idea, Reunderstand technique in improving students’ ability to find the main sentence in Indonesian language learning. This research uses a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest pre-experimental design. The subjects were 29 fifth-grade students from an elementary school in Bandung. Data were collected using tests consisting of 15 multiple-choice questions and 5 essay questions based on indicators of the ability to find the main sentence. The analysis results showed a significant increase in posttest scores compared to pretest scores, with the Paired Sample T-test indicating a significance value of less than 0.05. This demonstrates that the CIRC model combined with the Find the Main Idea, Reunderstand technique is effective in improving the ability to find the main sentence. The findings recommend the implementation of learning techniques that include structured guidance in teaching how to find the main sentence in elementary schools.
