    Abstract

    Kemandirian belajar merupakan bagian penting untuk meraih prestasi belajar. Kurangnya kemandirian belajar menyebebkan peserta didik tidak mandiri dan tidak bertanggungjawab sehingga berakibat pada tidak optimalnya prestasi yang diraih. Berdasarkan wawancara kepada guru BK SMA Negeri 1 Maja, diperoleh hasil bahwa kemandirian belajar masih berada pada kategori rendah menuju sedang, sehingga diperlukan upaya bantuan untuk mengembangkan kemandirian belajar peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran kemandirian belajar peserta didik dan merancang program bimbingan kelompok yang sesuai guna membantu peserta didik dalam mengembangkan kemandirian belajarnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survey, desain cross-sectional, dan menggunakan nonprobability sampling dengan teknik sampling jenuh. Partisipan penelitian berjumlah 427 peserta didik. Instrumen yang disusun pada penelitian ini berdasarkan teori kemandirian yang dikembangkan oleh Steinberg. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 41% peserta didik memiliki kemandirian belajar dengan kategori sedang. Program bimbingan kelompok dirancang untuk membantu peserta didik yang berada pada kategori sedang untuk mengembangkan kemandirian belajarnya. Learning independence plays a crucial role in achieving academic success. Insufficient learning independence often leads to students’ dependency and lack of responsibility, which subsequently results in suboptimal academic performance. Preliminary interviews with the guidance and counseling teacher at SMA Negeri 1 Maja revealed that students’ learning independence remains at a low level to moderate, indicating the necessity for targeted interventions to foster greater autonomy in learning. This study aimed to assess the level of students’ learning independence and to design an appropriate group guidance program to enhance it. A quantitative research approach was employed using a survey method with a cross-sectional design. The study utilized non-probability sampling with a saturated sampling technique, involving 427 students as participants. The measurement instrument was developed based on Steinberg’s theory of independence. Findings showed that 41% of the students demonstrated a moderate level of learning independence. Based on these findings, a structured group guidance program was designed to support students within this category in developing higher levels of learning independence. The implications of this study highlight the importance of implementing systematic group guidance as an intervention strategy to promote autonomous learning behavior among high school students.
