    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya literasi numerasi siswa, khususnya pada fase C. Salah satu penyebabnya karena penggunaan model pembelajaran yang kurang mengintegrasikan pembelajaran dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas model discovery learning terhadap peningkatan literasi numerasi siswa sekolah dasar. Pendekatan yang dilakukan adalah kuantitatif dengan desain pre-eksperimental tipe one group pretest-posttest. Subjek penelitian merupakan siswa kelas V sebanyak 24 orang di salah satu sekolah dasar. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes pretest dan posttest, dan analisis data menggunakan bantuan perangkat lunak SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata kemampuan awal siswa pada pretest sebesar 64,06, berdasarkan pedoman penilaian nilai rata-rata siswa berada pada kategori kurang. Setelah dilakukan pembelajaran menggunakan model discovery learning, nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat menjadi 88,02 pada posttest berdasarkan pedoman penilaian nilai rata-rata siswa berada pada kategori sangat baik. Hasil uji-t menunjukkan signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05, yang berarti terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan awal literasi numerasi siswa (pretest) dan kemampuan literasi numerasi siswas setelah dilakukan model discovery learning (posttest). Selain itu, hasil uji statistik N-Gain menunjukkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 0,69 atau 69%, yang termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Dengan demikian, model discovery learning dapat memberikan pengaruh positif dalam meningkatkan literasi numerasi siswa. The background of this research is the low numeracy literacy of students, particularly in phase C. One of the contributing factors is the use of learning models that are less integrated with students’ everyday life. The purpose of this research is to examine the effectiveness of the discovery learning model in improving elementary school students’ numeracy literacy. The research employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design of the one-group pretest-posttest type. The subjects were 24 fifth-grade students from an elementary school. Data were collected through pretest and posttest, and analyzed using SPSS software. The results showed that the students’ average pretest score was 64.06, which, based on the assessment criteria, falls into the “poor” category. After learning with the discovery learning model, the students’ average posttest score increased to 88.02, which falls into the “very good” category. The t-test results showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between students’ initial numeracy literacy (pretest) and their numeracy literacy after the discovery learning model was applied (posttest). In addition, the N-Gain statistical analysis showed an average value of 0.69 or 69%, which is classified as the “moderate” category. Thus, the discovery learning model can have a positive impact on improving students’ numeracy literacy.
