Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman dan analogi matematis siswa yang belajar dengan model advance organizer dan siswa yang belajar dengan pembelajaran biasa serta menelaah aktivitas siswa yang belajar dengan model pembelajaran advance organizer. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain kelompok kontrol non ekuivalen serta menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMPN di kota Padang sedangkan sampel penelitian terdiri dari 30 siswa kelas VII yang merupakan kelas eksperimen dan 30 siswa kelas VII yang merupakan kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah pretest dan postest siswa terhadap tes kemampuan pemahaman dan analogi matematis serta lembar observasi aktivitas belajar siswa di kelas eksperimen. Data dianalisis dengan uji perbedaan rataan Mann-whitney, Uji-t’ dan Uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 1) siswa yang belajar dengan model advance organizer memiliki peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman dan analogi matematis yang lebih baik daripada siswa yang belajar dengan pembelajaran biasa; dan 2) aktivitas siswa yang belajar dengan model advance organizer mengalami peningkatan selama proses pembelajaran. This research aims to elucidate the improvement of students' mathematics understanding and mathematical analogy who learn using advance organizer model and the students who learn using conventional learning and also to review the activities of the students who learn using advance organizer model. This research is a quasi experimental research with non equivalent control group design as well as the purposive sampling technique. The population in this research is the state junior high school students in Padang while the research sample consists of 30 students at grade VII as the experimental class and 30 students at grade VII as the control class. The instruments used in this study were pretest, postest of students such as understanding ability and mathematical analogy ability, and observation sheet. The statistical analysis performed were the independent sample t-test, the Mann-whitney test, and -t ' test. The research results obtained were the improvement of students' mathematics understanding and mathematical analogy abilities who learned using advance organizer model is better compared to students who learned using conventional learning; and students' activities who learned using model advance organizer have increased during the learning process.
