Abstract
Kemampuan berbicara anak usia dini merupakan salah satu indikator penting dalam perkembangan bahasa yang dipengaruhi oleh kualitas interaksi, khususnya komunikasi interpersonal antara ibu dan anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara komunikasi interpersonal ibu dan anak dengan kemampuan berbicara anak usia 4-6 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Subjek penelitian berjumalah 58 ibu yang memiliki anak usia 4-6 tahun di TK Kemala Bhayangkari 48 Sespim Lembang, yang dipilih menggunakan teknik random sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa angket tertutup berbasis skala Likert, yang diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Variabel komunikasi interpersonal diukur berdasarkan lima indikator komunikasi interpersonal Joseph A. DeVito (2015), sedangkan kemampuan berbicara anak diukur berdasarkan enam indikator perkembangan bahasa menurut Vyotsky, Bruner dan Piaget. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji korelasi Pearson. Hasil penelitian menunjukan nilai korelasi Pearson sebesar 0,991 dengan signifikansi <0,001, yang berarti terdapat hubungan positif yang sangat kuat antara komunikasi interpersonal ibu dan anak dengan kemampuan berbicara anak usia 4-6 tahun. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa semakin baik komunikasi interpersonal yang diterapkan ibu, semakin tinggi pula kemampuan berbicara anak. Rekomendasi dari penelitian ini adalah agar orang tua, bisa meningkatkan kualitas interaksi melalui komunikasi yang hangat, konsisten, dan responsiv, serta memberikan stimulus berupa percakapan sehari-hari, membaca bersama, dan bermain peran, sehingga anak semakin terlatih untuk mengekspresikan diri secara verbal. Selain itu, lembaga pendidikan dapat menyelenggarakan program parenting untuk memperkuat keterampilan komunikasi orang tua dalam mendukung perkembangan bahasa anak. ABSTRACT Early childhood speech ability is an important indicator of language development that is influenced by the quality of interaction, particularly interpersonal communication between mothers and children. This study aims to determine the relationship between interpersonal communication between mother and children and the speech ability of children aged 4-6 years. This study used a quantitative method with a correlation design. The research subjects consisted of 58 mothers who had children age 4-6 years at the Kemala Bhayangkari 48 Sespim Lembang Kindergarten, selected using random sampling techniques. The research instrument was a closed-ended questionnaire based on a Likert scale, which was tested for validity and reliability. The interpersonal communication variable was measured based on five indicators of interpersonal communication by Joseph A. DeVito (2015), while the child’s speaking ability was measured based on six indicators of language development according to Vygotsky, Bruner, and Piaget. Data analysis was performed using Pearson’s correlation test. The results showed a Pearson correlation value of 0,991 with a significance of <0,001, wich means that there is a very storng positive relationship between the interpersonal communication of mothers and children and the speaking ability of children aged 4-6 years. The findings indicate that the better the interpersonal communication practiced by mothers, the higher their children’s speaking abilities. The recommendation form this study is for parents to improve the quality of their interactions trough warm, consistent, and responsive communication, as well as providing stimuli in the form of daily conversations, reading together, and role-playing, so that children become more skilled at expressing themselves verbally. In addition, educational institutions can organize parenting programs to strengthen parents’ communication skills in supporting their childern’s language development.
