    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan membaca pemahaman peserta didik Fase C Kelas V sekolah dasar pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, khususnya materi teks eksplanasi. Studi pendahuluan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peserta didik yang kesulitan memahami isi teks bacaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengukur tingkat efektivitas penggunaan model SQ4R berbantuan kartu CAKAP untuk mmeningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman peserta didik pada materi tersebut. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan metode pre-eksperimen, desain one-group pretest-posttest. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 24 peserta didik Fase C di salah satu SD di Kabupaten Bandung. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes tertulis dengan jenis soal pilihan ganda dan uraian. Analisis data meliputi uji normalitas, hipotesis, dan N-Gain. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata hasil posttest mengalami peningkatan dari rata-rata hasil pretest, yaitu dari 48,96 menjadi 76,79. Berdasarkan uji hipotesis, diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,001 < 0,05, sehingga H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Hal ini berarti terdapat peningkatan keterampilan membaca pemahaman yang signifikan. Berdasarkan uji N-Gain, diperoleh skor N-Gain sebesar 0.5720 yang berada pada kriteria “sedang”. Sementara itu, persentase N-Gain sebesar 57,1997% (lebih dari 55%), menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran SQ4R berbantuan kartu CAKAP cukup efektif untuk meningkatkan ketrampilan membaca teks eksplanasi pada peserta didik Fase C sekolah dasar. This research was motivated by the low reading comprehension skills of Phase C students in 5th grade of elementary school for the Indonesian language subject, specifically in explanation texts. A preliminary study showed that students had difficulty understanding the content of the reading texts. This study aimed to measure the effectiveness of the SQ4R learning model assisted by CAKAP cards in improving students' reading comprehension skills in the aforementioned material. The research approach used was quantitative with a pre-experimental method, employing a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample for this study was 24 Phase C students at an elementary school in Bandung Regency. The instruments used were written tests consisting of multiple-choice and essay questions. Data analysis included normality, hypothesis, and N-Gain tests. The results showed that the average posttest score increased from the average pretest score, from 48.96 to 76.79. Based on the hypothesis test, a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05 was obtained, leading to the rejection of H0 and the acceptance of H1. This indicates a significant improvement in reading comprehension skills. Based on the N-Gain test, an N-Gain score of 0.5720 was obtained, which falls into the "medium" criterion. Meanwhile, the N-Gain percentage of 57.1997% (more than 55%) indicates that the SQ4R learning model assisted by CAKAP cards is quite effective for improving the reading skills of explanation texts in elementary school's Phase C students.
