    Abstract

    Pemahaman konsep-konsep ilmu sosial sangat penting dalam pendidikan dasar, karena hal ini membentuk dasar bagi siswa untuk memahami dinamika sosial. Namun, pembelajaran di bidang ini seringkali masih berbasis teks dan kurang melibatkan pengalaman yang menarik, sehingga menyebabkan rendahnya partisipasi siswa. Tujuan studi ini untuk mengeksplorasi dampak model pembelajaran Visual Auditory Kinesthetic (VAK) yang didukung oleh media Virtual Artsteps terhadap pemahaman konseptual siswa. Metode quasi-eksperimental dengan desain kelompok kontrol non-ekuivalen pun digunakan. Kelas eksperimen menerapkan model VAK dengan Virtual Artsteps, sementara kelas kontrol menggunakan model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah (PBL). Hasil menunjukkan dampak signifikan dari model VAK yang didukung oleh Virtual Artsteps, dengan efek 56% pada pemahaman konseptual. Siswa dalam kelompok VAK mengalami peningkatan yang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan kelompok PBL. Model VAK berkontribusi sebesar 71% terhadap pemahaman konseptual, dibandingkan dengan 50% dari model PBL. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan multisensori yang diperkaya dengan alat visual-virtual dapat secara efektif meningkatkan pembelajaran sejarah sosial di tingkat dasar. ----- Understanding social science concepts is crucial in primary education, as it forms the basis for students to comprehend social dynamics. However, learning in this field is often text-based and lacks engaging experiences, leading to low student participation. This study explores the impact of the Visual Auditory Kinesthetic (VAK) learning model supported by Virtual Artsteps media on students' conceptual understanding. A quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design was used. The experimental class applied the VAK model with Virtual Artsteps, while the control class used the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. The results showed a significant impact of the VAK model supported by Virtual Artsteps, with a 56% effect on conceptual understanding. Students in the VAK group experienced greater improvement compared to the PBL group. The VAK model contributed 71% to conceptual understanding, compared to 50% from the PBL model. These findings suggest that a multisensory approach enriched with visual-virtual tools can effectively enhance social history learning at the elementary level.
