Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berupa e-comic berbasis pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) yang dirancang guna meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis dan kemandirian belajar siswa. Tujuan khusus dari penelitian ini meliputi: (1) mendeskripsikan proses pengembangan dan bentuk akhir media e-comic berbasis RME yang telah dikembangkan, yang mampu meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan kemandirian belajar siswa; (2) menganalisis hasil validasi ahli terhadap desain media e-comic berbasis RME dan instrumen penelitian; (3) mengevaluasi respons guru dan siswa terhadap implementasi media e-comic berbasis RME dalam proses pembelajaran di kelas; (4) mengukur capaian kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa setelah menggunakan media e-comic berbasis RME dalam pembelajaran; (5) mengukur capaian proporsi kemandirian belajar siswa setelah menggunakan media e-comic berbasis RME dalam pembelajaran; (6) membandingkan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis antara siswa yang menggunakan media e-comic berbasis RME dan siswa yang tidak menggunakan media e-comic berbasis RME; dan (7) mengukur peningkatan proporsi kemandirian belajar siswa yang menggunakan media e-comic berbasis RME. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan model 4-D yang terdiri dari fase mendefinisikan, merancang, mengembangkan, dan mendiseminasikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) media e-comic berbasis RME telah dikembangkan dalam 4 (empat) episode tematik dirancang berdasarkan pendekatan RME, memfasilitasi pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan kemandirian belajar, serta menyajikan materi bangun ruang sisi datar dalam konteks kehidupan sehari-hari agar lebih mudah dipahami siswa; (2) hasil expert review menyimpulkan bahwa media e-comic berbasis RME dan instrumen penelitian yang dikembangkan telah memenuhi kriteria kelayakan sangat baik dan kesesuaian indikator pengukuran terhadap variabel penelitian; (3) respons guru dan siswa terhadap implementasi media e-comic berbasis RME sangat positif; (4) penggunaan e-comic berbasis RME dalam pembelajaran terbukti efektif mencapai kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa secara signifikan; (5) penggunaan e-comic berbasis RME dalam pembelajaran terbukti efektif untuk mencapai indikator kemandirian belajar; (6) siswa yang menggunakan e-comic berbasis RME dalam pembelajaran mengalami peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan siswa yang tidak menggunakan e-comic berbasis RME; dan (7) proporsi kemandirian belajar siswa meningkat setelah menggunakan media e-comic berbasis RME. This study aims to develop a learning medium in the form of an e-comic based on the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach, designed to enhance students’ mathematical creative thinking ability and learning independence. The specific objectives of this research include: (1) describing the final product of the RME-based e-comic that effectively supports the development of students’ creative thinking and independent learning; (2) analyzing expert validation of both the e-comic design and the research instruments; (3) assessing teacher and student responses to the implementation of the e-comic in classroom settings; (4) evaluating students’ mathematical creative thinking achievements after engaging with the RME-based e-comic; (5) identifying the proportion of students achieving high levels of learning independence following the use of the media; (6) determining whether students taught using the RME-based e-comic demonstrate greater enhancement in mathematical creative thinking ability than those taught using conventional methods; and (7) analyzing the increase in students’ learning independence as a result of using the e-comic. This research employed the 4-D development model, encompassing the phases of define, design, develop, and disseminate. The findings reveal that: (1) the developed e-comic consists of four thematic episodes designed using the RME approach, which promotes both creative thinking and independent learning by presenting solid geometry concepts within real-life contexts; (2) expert validation confirms that both the e-comic and the associated research instruments meet high standards of feasibility and accurately reflect the targeted research variables; (3) teachers and students provided highly favorable responses to the use of the e-comic in instruction; (4) the RME-based e-comic was shown to significantly improve students’ creative mathematical thinking skills; (5) the media was also effective in fostering students’ learning independence; (6) students who used the e-comic demonstrated greater improvement in creative mathematical thinking compared to those taught using traditional methods; and (7) a notable increase in the proportion of students with high learning independence was observed after using the media.
