Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dan memahami perkembangan kompetensi sosial emosional anak usia dini di kelas B TK Alam Annida dengan menggunakan teori kompetensi emosional yang dikembangkan oleh Mayer dan Salovey. Kompetensi sosial emosional mencakup kemampuan anak untuk memahami, mengelola, dan mengungkapkan emosi secara sehat serta berinteraksi positif dengan lingkungan sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi untuk mendapatkan data yang mendalam mengenai perkembangan anak usia 5-6 tahun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi sosial emosional anak di TK Alam Annida berkembang dalam empat kategori: Belum Berkembang (BB), Mulai Berkembang (MB), Berkembang Sesuai Harapan (BSH), dan Berkembang Sangat Baik (BSB). Sebagian besar anak mulai menunjukkan kemampuan pada berbagai indikator kompetensi sosial emosional, seperti pengelolaan perasaan diri, pemahaman terhadap emosi orang lain, dan interaksi sosial yang positif. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa upaya bimbingan dan konseling dapat menjadi strategi yang efektif untuk mendukung perkembangan sosial emosional anak. Dengan memberikan lingkungan yang mendukung serta pendekatan yang terstruktur, kompetensi sosial emosional anak dapat berkembang secara optimal, baik di sekolah maupun di rumah This study aims to explore and understand the development of social-emotional competence in early childhood students in Class B of TK Alam Annida using the emotional competence theory developed by Mayer and Salovey. Social-emotional competence encompasses the ability of children to understand, manage, and express emotions in a healthy manner, as well as to interact positively within their social environment. This research employs a qualitative approach using observation, interviews, and documentation methods to obtain in-depth data on the development of children aged 5–6 years. The results show that the social-emotional competence of children at TK Alam Annida develops across four categories: Not Yet Developed (BB), Beginning to Develop (MB), Developing as Expected (BSH), and Well-Developed (BSB). Most children began to exhibit abilities in various social-emotional competence indicators, such as self-regulation, understanding the emotions of others, and engaging in positive social interactions. These findings indicate that guidance and counseling efforts can be effective strategies to support the socialemotional development of children. By providing a supportive environment and a structured approach, children's social-emotional competence can develop optimally, both at school and at home
