Abstract
This study was prompted by the fact that teachers do not often use information technology in the learning process, especially in remote areas such as Huamual District. Many teachers still make teaching aids manually, and they find it difficult to use technology-based learning media. Low digital literacy and ineffective implementation of information technology in schools are thought to be the causes of this problem. The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of digital literacy on the application of information technology and the impact of digital literacy on teacher performance, as well as the implementation of technology on teacher performance. A quantitative method was used in this study, employing the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis technique. The respondents consisted of 115 junior high schools across Huamual District, and the sample was selected using random sampling, comprising 88 teachers. The instrument used was a questionnaire that had been validated and tested for reliability. The results of the study indicate that digital literacy has a significant influence on the implementation of information technology, with a T-statistic value of 13.173 and p = 0.000, and on teacher performance, with a T-statistic value of 3.567 and p = 0.000. Additionally, the implementation of information technology also has a significant influence on teacher performance, with a T-statistic value of 2.828 and p = 0.005. According to the R Square value of 0.689, digital literacy and information technology can together explain 68.9% of the variation in teacher performance. These results emphasize the importance of teachers acquiring digital skills as a means to improve the quality of learning and other performance aspects. The implications of this study suggest that teachers should become more proficient in digital literacy through continuous training, and there should be adequate provision of technological infrastructure. This is an important way to address educational challenges in the digital age, particularly in areas with limited access, such as Huamual District.
