Evi Sofia, - (2025) PENERAPAN MODEL FLIPPED CLASSROOM BERBANTUAN APLIKASI VOICE TO TEXT UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN BERBICARA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA INDONESIA PADA SISWA DI SEKOLAH DASAR. S2 thesis, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia.
Abstract
Speaking ability is one of the essential language skills in Indonesian language learning. However, many elementary school students still encounter difficulties, particularly due to low self-confidence, limited practice opportunities, and the use of conventional teaching methods. This condition underlies the formulation of the research problem, namely: How is the implementation of the Flipped Classroom model assisted by a Voice-to-Text application in Indonesian language learning at the elementary school level, and to what extent is its effectiveness in improving students’ speaking skills?. This study employed a mixed methods approach with an embedded design. The research population consisted of all fourth-grade elementary school students in Bojongsoang District, Bandung Regency. The sample included 34 students in the experimental class and 34 students in the control class, selected using purposive sampling. The experimental class received instruction through the Flipped Classroom model assisted by a Voice-to-Text application, while the control class was taught using conventional methods. Data collection techniques included tests (pretest and posttest), observation, interviews, and student response questionnaires. Quantitative data were analyzed using a Paired Sample t-test and an Independent Sample t-test, while qualitative data were embedded to enrich and explain the quantitative findings. The results showed that the Flipped Classroom model assisted by the Voice-to-Text application significantly improved students’ speaking skills. The average posttest score in the experimental class was higher than that of the control class, with t-test results indicating a significant difference (p < 0.05). Qualitative analysis revealed that students felt more confident, more trained in expressing opinions orally, and more motivated to learn. In conclusion, the application of the Flipped Classroom model assisted by a Voice-to-Text application is effective in improving the speaking skills of elementary school students and is feasible to be adopted as an innovative and interactive strategy in Indonesian language learning.
