Abstract

Permasalahan penelitian ini yaitu rendahnya motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran akuntansi di SMA Laboratorium Percontohan UPI. Faktor yang menjadi penyebab permasalahan yaitu cara penyampaian materi pelajaran yang dilakukan oleh guru masih monoton dengan pendekatan yang berpusat pada guru. Salah satu usaha untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut dengan penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning agar motivasi belajar siswa dapat meningkat. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui apakah model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning berpengaruh terhadap motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran akuntansi di kelas XI IPS SMA Laboratorium Percontohan UPI. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain non equivalent (pre test - post test) Control-Group Design pada siswa kelas XI IPS 3 yang berjumlah 32 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan Kelas XI IPS 2 yang berjumlah 32 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaraan Problem Based Learning berpengaruh terhadap motivasi belajar siswa. Dengan demikian, disarankan agar model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dijadikan sebagai salah satu alternatif pembelajaran bagi guru dalam kegiatan pembelajaran karena model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dapat melibatkan siswa secara aktif dan dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa dalam mempelajari akuntansi. The problem of this research is the inferior learning motivation of the students on accounting subject in Model Laboratory High School of UPI. The factor that has became the cause of the problem is at the delivery of the materials of the subject that has been doing by the monotonous teachers with teacher-center approaching way. One of the effort to overcome the problem is by applying the Problem Based Learning model in order to enhance the students’ learning motivation. This research was done to find out if the Problem Based Learning model gave impact to students’ learning motivation on accounting subject at Class XI IPS in Model Laboratory High School of UPI at Academic Year 2013/2014. This research is using experiment method with non equivalent (pre test - post test) Control-Group Design to the students of Class XI-IPS-3, which is amounting to 32 students as experiment sample and Class XI-IPS-2, which is amounting to 32 students as control class. According to the research result, it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning model gave impact to the students’ learning motivation. Therefore, it’s suggested that Problem Based Learning model used as one of alternative learning for teachers in learning activities because Problem Based Learning model can involve the students actively and enhance students’ learning motivation in learning accounting.
