    Abstract

    Kemampuan mengenal huruf merupakan aspek dasar yang sangat penting dalam perkembangan literasi anak usia dini, karena menjadi pondasi utama bagi proses membaca dan menulis di kemudian hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pengenalan huruf anak melalui penerapan metode Read Aloud, yang dirancang agar pembelajaran lebih interaktif dan menyenangkan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan dua siklus, dilengkapi teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi langsung selama kegiatan, wawancara singkat, dan dokumentasi, yang kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif untuk menilai perkembangan anak. Subjek penelitian adalah 8 anak kelompok A TK X Kabupaten Cianjur, berusia 4–5 tahun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan pengenalan huruf anak dari siklus I ke siklus II, dengan capaian dari 47,49% menjadi 72,49% pada siklus I, dan meningkat lebih optimal menjadi 97,49% pada siklus II. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa metode Read Aloud efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pengenalan huruf, sekaligus mendorong partisipasi aktif dan fokus belajar anak secara signifikan. ---------- The ability to recognize letters is a fundamental aspect of early childhood literacy development, as it serves as the primary foundation for future reading and writing skills. This study aims to improve children’s letter recognition skills through the implementation of the Read Aloud method, designed to make learning more interactive and enjoyable. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach with two cycles, using data collection techniques including direct observation during activities, brief interviews, and documentation, which were analyzed descriptively to assess children’s progress. The subjects of the study were 8 children from Group A at TK X in Cianjur Regency, aged 4–5 years. The results indicated an improvement in children’s letter recognition skills from Cycle I to Cycle II, with achievement increasing from 47.49% to 72.49% in Cycle I, and reaching 97.49% in Cycle II. These findings demonstrate that the Read Aloud method is effective in enhancing letter recognition abilities while also encouraging active participation and focused learning among children.
