Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik fase C peserta didik masih belum baik. Oleh karena itu peserta didik kesulitan untuk memahami materi mengenai materi operasi penjumlahan dan pengurangan pecahan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh gambaran mengenai efektivitas metode Bar Model terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik fase C. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen tipe one group pretest-posttest. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik fase C di salah satu sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Bandung Kidul yang berjumlah 27 orang. Data ini dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan instrumen tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik yang telah divalidasi sebelumnya. Analisis data yang digunakan didalam penelitian ini yaitu uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji-t (paired sample t-test) dan uji peningkatan terhadap skor N-gain. Hasil penelitian ini terlihat adanya perbedaan rata-rata sebelum dan sesudah dilakukannya metode Bar Model dengan dibuktikan dari uji t yang menunjukan adanya perbedaan. Berdasarkan hasil uji peningkatan terhadap skor N-gain memperoleh skor tinggi yang berarti memiliki tingkat efektivitas tinggi. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode Bar Model ini efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik fase C. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi bagi pendidik dalam memilih metode dalam pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. This research is motivated by the mathematical problem solving skills of phase C students who are still not good. Therefore, students have difficulty understanding the material regarding the operation of addition and subtraction of fractions. The purpose of this study was to obtain an overview of the effectiveness of the Bar Model learning method on the mathematical problem solving skills of phase C students. The research method used in this research is quantitative with a one group pretest-posttest type experimental design. The population in this study were all phase C students in one of the elementary schools in Bandung Kidul District, totaling 27 people. This data was collected using a previously validated learner mathematical problem solving ability test instrument. Data analysis used in this study is normality test, homogeneity test, paired sample t-test and improvement test on N-gain score. The results of this study showed a difference in the average before and after the Bar Model method as evidenced by the t-test which showed a difference. Based on the results of the N-gain improvement test, it obtained a high score which means it has a high level of effectiveness. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Bar Model method is effective for improving the mathematical problem solving skills of phase C students. This research is expected to be a reference for educators in choosing learning methods that can be used in improving mathematical problem solving skills.
