    Abstract

    Rendahnya keterampilan berbicara pada anak usia dini menjadi perhatian serius dalam dunia pendidikan. Penelitian ini mengkaji efektivitas metode bercerita berbantuan boneka tangan dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara anak usia 5-6 tahun. Permasalahan yang teridentifikasi masih belum berkembangnya kemampuan berbicara anak meliputi pasifnya anak, kurang aktif dalam bertanya, dan anak belum mampu mengucapkan kata-kata dengan jelas. Atas permasalahan tersebut, diperlukan upaya untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara anak usia dini. Penelitian ini menerapkan pembelajaran bertahap menggunakan metode bercerita dengan boneka tangan. Tujuannya adalah mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan berbicara anak dalam penguasaan kosakata, struktur bahasa, dan kualitas pengucapan kata. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilaksanakan dalam 3 siklus, masing-masing terdiri dari 5 tahapan: identifikasi masalah, pengumpulan data, perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan penilaian hasil. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan: Tindakan I mencapai 32,45% ("Mulai Berkembang") , Tindakan II meningkat menjadi 52,22% ("Berkembang Sesuai Harapan") , dan Tindakan III mencapai 90,56% ("Berkembang Sangat Baik"). Ini membuktikan bahwa metode bercerita berbantuan boneka tangan secara signifikan meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara anak usia dini. Metode ini efektif memperkaya kosakata, meningkatkan struktur bahasa, memperbaiki pengucapan, serta meningkatkan pemahaman cerita, ekspresi, dan gestur anak. Pendekatan ini sangat layak dijadikan strategi berkelanjutan , dengan saran bagi guru untuk meningkatkan pelatihan dan memastikan interaksi yang merata bagi setiap anak. ------------The low speaking skills in early childhood are a serious concern in the world of education. This research examines the effectiveness of the hand puppet storytelling method in improving the speaking skills of children aged 5-6 years. Identified problems include passive children, a lack of active questioning, and difficulty understanding teacher explanations. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve early childhood speaking skills. This study implemented a gradual learning approach using the storytelling method with hand puppet media. The objective was to determine if this method could enhance children's speaking skills in terms of vocabulary acquisition, language structure improvement, and word pronunciation quality. This classroom action research was conducted in 3 cycles, each consisting of 5 stages: problem identification, data collection, action planning, action implementation, and results assessment. Results showed significant improvement: Cycle I achieved 32.45% ("Beginning to Develop"), Cycle II increased to 52.22% ("Developing as Expected"), and Cycle III reached 90.56% ("Developing Very Well"). This demonstrates that the hand puppet-assisted storytelling method significantly improves early childhood speaking skills. The method proved effective in enriching vocabulary, improving language structure, correcting pronunciation, and enhancing children's story comprehension, expression, and gestures. This approach is highly suitable as a sustainable strategy, with recommendations for teachers to enhance training and ensure equitable interaction opportunities for every child.
