Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas metode Sugestopedia berbantuan media gambar tunggal terhadap peningkatan keterampilan menulis dan membaca puisi peserta didik fase C sekolah dasar. Latar belakang penelitian ini dilandasi oleh rendahnya motivasi dan kemampuan peserta didik dalam menulis dan membaca puisi, yang disebabkan akibat metode pembelajaran yang kurang inovatif dan tidak memberi ruang ekspresi. Dalam Kurikulum Merdeka, kemampuan berbahasa ekspresif menjadi salah satu capaian penting, termasuk dalam bentuk puisi. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan metode yang dapat merangsang imajinasi dan ekspresi secara optimal. Metode Sugestopedia, yang mengutamakan suasana belajar menyenangkan dan sugesti positif, dipadukan dengan media gambar tunggal sebagai stimulus visual, digunakan sebagai intervensi dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuasi eksperimen dengan dua kelompok: kelas kontrol (VA) dan kelas eksperimen (VB), masing-masing terdiri dari 25 peserta didik. Kelas eksperimen mendapatkan pembelajaran menulis dan membaca puisi dengan metode Sugestopedia berbantuan media gambar tunggal, sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan metode Direct Instruction. Instrumen penelitian mencakup tes keterampilan menulis dan membaca puisi, yang dianalisis menggunakan uji N-Gain untuk mengukur peningkatan hasil belajar. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kelompok eksperimen mengalami peningkatan rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 52,21% untuk keterampilan membaca puisi, sedangkan kelompok kontrol mengalami penurunan rata-rata sebesar -85,42%. Begitu pula dalam aspek menulis puisi, kelompok eksperimen menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan (mean N-Gain 69,16%) dibandingkan kelompok kontrol yang cenderung stagnan atau menurun. Data statistik menunjukkan bahwa distribusi hasil kelompok eksperimen cenderung normal dan stabil, sementara kelompok kontrol menunjukkan distribusi yang menyimpang dan tidak merata. Dengan demikian, metode Sugestopedia berbantuan media gambar tunggal terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis dan membaca puisi peserta didik fase C sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penggunaan metode ini sebagai alternatif inovatif dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia berbasis ekspresi dan apresiasi sastra. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Sugestopedia method assisted by single-image media in improving poetry writing and reading skills among fifth-grade elementary school students. The background of this research is rooted in the low levels of motivation and ability among students in composing and interpreting poetry, which is assumed to be caused by conventional teaching methods that lack innovation and do not provide sufficient space for student expression. In the Merdeka Curriculum, expressive language skills are essential learning outcomes, including the ability to write and read poetry. Therefore, a method that stimulates imagination and expression is necessary. The Sugestopedia method, which emphasizes a relaxed learning atmosphere and positive suggestion, is integrated with single-image media as a visual stimulus to support this process. This research employs a quasi-experimental design involving two groups: a control group (Class VA) and an experimental group (Class VB), each consisting of 25 students. The experimental group received instruction using the Sugestopedia method assisted by single-image media, while the control group was taught using the Direct Instruction method. Research instruments included tests to assess students’ poetry writing and reading skills, analyzed through the N-Gain formula to measure learning improvement. The results show that the experimental group experienced an average N-Gain of 52.21% in reading skills, whereas the control group saw a decline with an average of -85.42%. Similarly, in poetry writing, the experimental group demonstrated a significant increase (mean N-Gain of 69.16%), while the control group showed stagnation or decline. Statistical data revealed that the experimental group had a relatively normal and stable data distribution, in contrast to the control group which exhibited extreme variation and skewed distribution. Thus, the Suggestopedia method, aided by single-image media, has proven effective in improving the poetry writing and reading skills of elementary school phase C students. This study recommends the use of this method as an innovative alternative in Indonesian language learning based on expression and literary appreciation.
