    Abstract

    Kemajuan teknologi informasi yang semakin signifikan, khususnya pada sistem ujian berbasis web, menjadikan keamanan data sebagai aspek yang sangat krusial. Transmisi data melalui jaringan terbuka berpotensi disadap dan dimanfaatkan pihak tidak bertanggung jawab, sehingga diperlukan mekanisme perlindungan yang memadai. Penelitian ini mengimplementasikan algoritma kriptografi Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 256-bit untuk meningkatkan keamanan data dari risiko kebocoran, manipulasi, dan akses tidak sah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Design and Development (D&D). Untuk proses perancangan dan pembangunan sistem web, digunakan model Agile. Sistem dibangun menggunakan Next.js pada frontend, Express.js pada backend, dan MySQL sebagai basis data, dengan proses enkripsi dan dekripsi dijalankan sepenuhnya di sisi klien. Hasil pengujian Black-box membuktikan seluruh fitur pada peran admin, guru, dan siswa berjalan sesuai spesifikasi tanpa kesalahan fungsional. Pengujian keamanan menggunakan Wireshark menunjukkan bahwa data sensitif, termasuk identitas siswa, soal, dan jawaban, terkirim dalam bentuk ciphertext sehingga tidak terbaca di tingkat paket jaringan. Analisis Korelasi Pearson menghasilkan nilai korelasi antara plaintext dan ciphertext untuk data soal antara -0,278 hingga 0,294, NIM antara -0,243 hingga 0,313, serta nomor telepon antara -0,097 hingga 0,042, yang seluruhnya menunjukkan kategori sangat lemah atau tidak ada korelasi. Hasil ini menegaskan bahwa AES-256 mampu menyamarkan pola data secara efektif, menjaga kerahasiaan, dan meningkatkan keacakan informasi. Penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi referensi bagi pengembang dan institusi dalam membangun sistem berbasis web yang aman, andal, serta layak diimplementasikan. ------- The rapid advancement of information technology, particularly in web-based examination systems, has made data security a highly critical aspect. Data transmission over open networks is vulnerable to interception and misuse by unauthorized parties; therefore, adequate protection mechanisms are required. This study implements the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 256-bit cryptographic algorithm to enhance data security against risks of leakage, manipulation, and unauthorized access. The research method employed is Design and Development (D&D). For the design and development of the web system, the Agile model was applied. The system was built using Next.js for the frontend, Express.js for the backend, and MySQL as the database, with encryption and decryption processes executed entirely on the client side. Black-box testing confirmed that all features for the roles of administrator, teacher, and student functioned according to specifications without functional errors. Security testing using Wireshark demonstrated that sensitive data, including student identities, exam questions, and answers, were transmitted in ciphertext form, rendering them unreadable at the network packet level. Pearson Correlation Analysis produced correlation values between plaintext and ciphertext for exam questions ranging from -0.278 to 0.294, student ID numbers from -0.243 to 0.313, and phone numbers from -0.097 to 0.042, all of which indicate a very weak or no correlation. These results affirm that AES-256 effectively obscures data patterns, safeguards confidentiality, and enhances information randomness. This research is expected to serve as a reference for developers and institutions in building secure, reliable, and practically implementable web-based systems.
