    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilandasi oleh terjadinya degradasi moral di kalangan pelajar dan masalah – masalah karakter yang setiap hari terjadi. Penting adanya integrasi pendidikan karakter dalam pembelajaran IPS melalui pendekatan yang kontekstual dan berbasis kearifan lokal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menguji efektivitas model pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) berbasis nilai-nilai karakter perjuangan Pangeran Hidayatullah dalam meningkatkan karakter peduli sosial siswa pada jenjang sekolah menengah pertama di Kabupaten Cianjur. Didasarkan pada tujuan utama penelitian ini untuk mengembangkan desain model pembelajaran maka metode yang dalam penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan desain model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Tahapan yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini dimulai dari studi pendahuluan melalui studi hermeneutika, pengembangan desain model pembelajaran melalui Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dan uji efektivitas model. Teknik analisis data yang dilakukan terbagi menjadi dua jenis, yaitu data kualitatif dan data kuantitatif : analis data kualitatif, diperoleh dari studi hermeneutika dan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dalam merumuskan tindakan perbaikan sementara analisis data kuantitatif, diperoleh dari hasil PTK untuk peningkatan karakter peduli sosial dan hasil uji efektivitas. Temuan penelitian pada studi pendahuluan mengidentifikasi nilai-nilai karakter yang teridentifikasi meliputi nilai karakter religius, cinta tanah air, dan peduli sosial. Namun yang diangkat pada penelitian ini adalah nilai karakter peduli sosial. Temuan pada tahapan pengembangan dilaksanakan melalui PTK kemudian diujicobakan dalam uji efektivitas di MTs Ats-Tsuur dan SMPN 4 Cianjur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran yang dikembangkan efektif meningkatkan karakter peduli sosial siswa. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi tokoh lokal dalam pembelajaran IPS mampu memperkuat pendidikan karakter dan menjadikan pembelajaran lebih bermakna, kontekstual, dan transformatif. This research is based on the occurrence of moral degradation among students and the character-related problems that happen every day. It is important to integrate character education into Social Studies learning through a contextual and local wisdom–based approach. This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of a Social Studies (IPS) learning model based on the character values of Pangeran Hidayatullah’s struggle in enhancing students’ social care character at the junior high school level in Cianjur Regency. Based on the main objective of this research—to develop a learning model design—the method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model design (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The stages carried out in this research began with a preliminary study through a hermeneutic approach, the development of a learning model design through Classroom Action Research, and model effectiveness testing. The data analysis techniques were divided into two types: qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative data analysis was obtained from the hermeneutic study and Classroom Action Research in formulating improvement actions, while quantitative data analysis was obtained from Classroom Action Research results for the enhancement of social care character and from the effectiveness test. Findings from the preliminary study identified character values including religious values, patriotism, and social care. However, this research focused on the value of social care character. The findings in the development stage were carried out through Classroom Action Research and then tested in the effectiveness trial at MTs Ats-Tsuur and SMPN 4 Cianjur. The results of the study show that the developed learning model was effective in improving students’ social care character. These findings indicate that the integration of local figures in Social Studies learning can strengthen character education and make learning more meaningful, contextual, and transformative.
