    Abstract

    Rendahnya minat dan pemahaman siswa terhadap pelajaran sejarah kerap menjadi tantangan dalam proses pembelajaran di sekolah. Hal ini disebabkan oleh dominasi penggunaan buku teks yang mengandung materi sejarah nasional yang cenderung bersifat umum dan kurang mengaitkan materi sejarah lokal. Padahal, sejarah lokal memiliki potensi besar untuk menumbuhkan pemahaman yang lebih bermakna serta kesadaran sejarah yang kuat terhadap identitas dan lingkungan sekitar siswa. Salah satu sejarah lokal yang dapat diintegrasikan ke dalam pembelajaran sejarah adalah peristiwa berdirinya kolonialisme di daerah-daerah terpencil, yang memiliki nilai historis dan kultural tinggi namun jarang diangkat dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan bahan ajar sejarah lokal bertema kolonialisme Belanda di Ende-Lio terhadap hasil belajar dan kesadaran sejarah siswa di kelas XI SMA. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain kuasi eksperimen, melibatkan dua kelompok, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan bahan ajar berbasis sejarah lokal dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan bahan ajar konvensional. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes hasil belajar dan angket kesadaran sejarah, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji statistik deskriptit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan bahan ajar sejarah lokal secara signifikan meningkatkan hasil belajar dan kesadaran sejarah siswa. Terdapat perbedaan yang nyata antara hasil pretest dan posttest pada kelompok eksperimen, serta perbedaan yang signifikan dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa bahan ajar kontekstual berbasis sejarah lokal lebih efektif dalam membangun pemahaman yang mendalam dan kesadaran sejarah siswa terhadap lingkungan sosial dan budaya mereka. Oleh karena itu, pengintegrasian sejarah lokal dalam pembelajaran disarankan sebagai strategi untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan sejarah yang lebih bermakna. This is caused by the dominance of textbooks that contain national history material, which tends to be general in nature and less connected to local history. In fact, local history has great potential to foster more meaningful understanding as well as strong historical awareness related to students’ identity and surrounding environment. One example of local history that can be integrated into history learning is the event of the establishment of colonialism in remote areas, which holds high historical and cultural value but is rarely highlighted in classroom teaching. This study aims to determine the effect of using local history teaching materials with the theme of Dutch colonialism in Ende-Lio on students’ learning outcomes and historical awareness in grade XI of senior high school. The method used is a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, involving two groups: the experimental class, which used local history-based teaching materials, and the control class, which used conventional teaching materials. Data were collected through achievement tests and historical awareness questionnaires, then analyzed using descriptive statistical tests. The results of the study show that the use of local history teaching materials significantly improved students’ learning outcomes and historical awareness. There were notable differences between the pretest and posttest results in the experimental group, as well as significant differences compared to the control group. These findings prove that contextual teaching materials based on local history are more effective in fostering deep understanding and students’ historical awareness of their social and cultural environment. Therefore, the integration of local history in the learning process is recommended as a strategy to improve the quality of history education in a more meaningful way.
