    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa sekolah dasar, khususnya dalam operasi perkalian. Tidak sedikit kelas tinggi di sekolah dasar yang belum menguasai kemampuan dasar literasi numerasi, sehingga akan membuat siswa kesulitan untuk pembelajaran lebih kompleks. Literasi numerasi tidak hanya menekankan pada berhitung, tetapi juga kemampuan menganalisis informasi dan membuat keputusan berdasarkan data kontekstual. Salah satu alternatifnya adalah dengan menggunakan pendekatan Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL). Dengan TaRL akan memberikan pengalaman belajar yang sesuai dengan tingkatan kemampuan setiap siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh suatu pendekatan yaitu TaRL dan RME terhadap kemampuan literasi numerasi, serta perbedaan kemampuan literasi numerasi yang menggunakan pendekatan TaRL dengan yang menggunaan RME. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Matching-Only Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 27 siswa kelas eksperimen di SDN Mekarsari yang menggunakan pendekatan TaRL, dan kelas 30 siswa kontrol di SDN Neglasari 02 yang menggunakan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME). Instrumen penelitian berupa tes pretest dan posttest yang dikembangkan berdasarkan indikator literasi numerasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan rata-rata nilai pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Hasil uji independent sample t-test menunjukkan nilai signifikansi (Sig. 2-tailed) sebesar 0,026 < 0,05 yang berarti terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Dengan demikian, pendekatan TaRL terbukti berpengaruh signifikan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa sekolah dasar. ---------- This research is motivated by the low numeracy literacy skills of elementary school students, particularly in multiplication operations. Many upper-grade students in elementary schools have yet to master basic numeracy literacy skills, which hinders their ability to engage in more complex learning. Numeracy literacy is not only about arithmetic but also includes the ability to analyze information and make decisions based on contextual data. One alternative approach is the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) method, which provides a learning experience tailored to each student's ability level. The aim of this study is to examine the effects of the TaRL and Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approaches on numeracy literacy skills, as well as to identify differences in numeracy literacy abilities between students taught using TaRL and those taught using RME The research method used is quasi-experimental with a Matching-Only Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The research subjects consisted of students in the experimental group at SDN Mekarsari, who were taught using the TaRL approach, and 30 students in the control group at SDN Neglasari 02, who were taught using the RME approach. The research instrument consisted of pretest and posttest assessments developed based on numeracy literacy Indicators. The results showed an increase in the average scores in both the experimental and control classes. The independent samples t-test yielded a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.026 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the experimental and control groups. Therefore, the TaRL approach has been proven to significantly improve the numeracy literacy skills of elementary school students.
