    Abstract

    Bahasa Inggris memiliki peran penting sebagai bahasa internasional, termasuk dalam dunia pendidikan. Namun, kedudukannya di sekolah dasar mengalami perubahan seiring bergantinya kurikulum. Pada Kurikulum 2013 Bahasa Inggris sempat dihapus sebagai mata pelajaran wajib, sedangkan pada Kurikulum Merdeka kembali diberikan fleksibilitas kepada sekolah untuk menyelenggarakannya. Kondisi ini membuat praktik pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris di sekolah dasar bervariasi, sehingga penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana perencanaan, pelaksanaan, serta penggunaan media pembelajaran dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris di SDN Citeureup Mandiri 1 dan SD Tridaya kelas IV, serta membandingkan persamaan dan perbedaannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Subjek penelitian adalah guru Bahasa Inggris kelas IV di masing-masing sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran di SDN Citeureup Mandiri 1 masih sederhana, dengan pembelajaran yang mengacu pada buku paket dan sumber daring, sedangkan di SD Tridaya pembelajaran lebih terstruktur karena guru berlatar belakang Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris. SDN Citeureup Mandiri 1 didominasi strategi pengulangan dan penggunaan media sederhana seperti buku paket, kertas angka, dan lagu. Sebaliknya, di SD Tridaya strategi pembelajaran lebih variatif dengan teacher’s talk konsisten, media digital, media buatan guru, serta praktik kontekstual. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa kualitas pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris di sekolah dasar sangat dipengaruhi oleh kompetensi guru, dukungan sekolah, kesiapan siswa, serta kreativitas dalam memanfaatkan media pembelajaran. --------- English plays an important role as an international language, including in the field of education. However, its position in elementary schools in Indonesia has shifted along with curriculum changes. Under the 2013 Curriculum, English was removed as a compulsory subject, while in the Merdeka Curriculum schools are once again given flexibility to offer it. This condition creates variations in English learning practices at the elementary level. Therefore, this study aims to describe the planning, implementation, and use of learning media in English teaching at grade IV of SDN Citeureup Mandiri 1 and SD Tridaya, as well as to compare their similarities and differences. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The subjects were English teachers of grade IV from each school. The findings reveal that the implementation in SDN Citeureup Mandiri 1 remains relatively simple, relying on textbooks and online sources, while SD Tridaya presents a more structured plan due to the teacher’s background in English Education. In the classroom, SDN Citeureup Mandiri 1 mainly applied repetition strategies and simple media such as textbooks, number cards, and songs. In contrast, SD Tridaya applied more varied strategies, including consistent teacher’s talk, digital media, teacher-made media, and contextual practice. This study concludes that the quality of English teaching in elementary schools is strongly influenced by teacher competence, school support, student readiness, and the creativity in utilizing learning media.
