Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan proses sains (KPS) siswa di Indonesia, yang tercermin dari skor literasi sains PISA 2000–2022 yang selalu berada di bawah rata-rata Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Kondisi ini menunjukkan perlunya peningkatan KPS sejak sekolah dasar, namun pembelajaran masih kurang efektif karena model dan media yang digunakan belum sesuai dengan karakteristik serta gaya belajar generasi alfa. Upaya yang dilakukan yaitu dengan penggunaan media Spatial.io dengan model discovery learning. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media Spatial.io dan diorama dengan model discovery learning terhadap keterampilan proses sains siswa kelas V SD pada pembelajaran sistem tata surya, serta perbedaan pengaruh media Spatial.io dan diorama dengan model discovery learning terhadap keterampilan proses sains siswa kelas V SD pada pembelajaran sistem tata surya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen dengan jenis nonequivalent control group. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari peserta didik kelas V dari dua sekolah dasar yang berbeda, masing-masing mewakili kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui soal tes pre-test dan post-test, dan data dianalisis menggunakan uji validitas, uji reliabilitas, uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji paired sample t-test, uji independent sample t-test, uji wilcoxon, dan uji mann-whitney. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan pengaruh yang signifikan dari penggunaan media Spatial.io dan diorama dengan model discovery learning terhadap keterampilan proses sains siswa kelas V SD pada pembelajaran sistem tata surya. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan hasil uji independent sample t-test yang menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000. Karena nilai signifikansi tersebut < 0,05 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan pengaruh media Spatial.io dan diorama dengan model discovery learning terhadap keterampilan proses sains siswa kelas V SD pada pembelajaran sistem tata surya. --------- This study is motivated by the low level of students’ science process skills (SPS) in Indonesia, as reflected in the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) results from 2000 to 2022, which consistently remain below the average score of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). This condition indicates the need to improve SPS from the elementary level. However, learning has been less effective due to the use of models and media that are not aligned with the characteristics and learning styles of generation alpha. To address this issue, this study employed Spatial.io media with the discovery learning model. The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of Spatial.io and diorama media with the discovery learning model on the science process skills of fifth-grade elementary students in learning the solar system, as well as to identify the differences in their impacts. The research used a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The subjects were fifth-grade students from two different elementary schools, representing experimental and control classes. Data were collected using pre-test and post-test instruments, and analyzed through validity and reliability tests, normality and homogeneity tests, paired sample t-test, independent sample t-test, wilcoxon test, and mann-whitney test. The findings revealed a significant difference in the effects of using Spatial.io and diorama media with the discovery learning model on students’ science process skills in solar system learning. This was evidenced by the independent sample t-test result, which showed a significance value of 0.000. Since the value was < 0.05, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in the influence of Spatial.io and diorama media with the discovery learning model on the science process skills of fifth-grade elementary students in solar system learning.
