Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman literasi finansial siswa sekolah dasar yang umumnya disebabkan oleh pembelajaran IPS yang masih bersifat konvensional dan kurang memberikan pengalaman kontekstual. Siswa cenderung memahami konsep keuangan hanya secara teoritis, tanpa kesempatan untuk menerapkannya dalam kehidupan nyata. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini menerapkan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) melalui kegiatan Market Class yang melibatkan siswa secara langsung dalam simulasi peran sebagai penjual dan pembeli. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan pemahaman literasi finansial siswa setelah diterapkannya model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) pada pembelajaran IPS. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif dengan instrumen berupa tes literasi finansial yang diberikan sebelum (pre-test) dan sesudah (post-test) pembelajaran. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan perhitungan N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman literasi finansial siswa yang signifikan. Nilai rata-rata pre-test sebesar 29,15 meningkat menjadi 44,80 pada post-test. Peningkatan ini diperkuat oleh hasil analisis N-Gain dengan rata-rata 0,84 atau 84% (kategori tinggi), dengan nilai minimum 0,68 dan maksimum 1,00. Berdasarkan indikator, peningkatan tertinggi terdapat pada aspek pengetahuan keuangan (0,89), diikuti oleh perilaku keuangan (0,84), dan sikap keuangan (0,75). Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) dalam setting Market Class efektif meningkatkan pemahaman literasi finansial siswa sekolah dasar. Melalui pembelajaran yang kontekstual dan berbasis pengalaman nyata, siswa tidak hanya memahami konsep keuangan, tetapi juga belajar mengelola uang, membuat keputusan finansial, dan menumbuhkan sikap bertanggung jawab terhadap penggunaan keuangan. -------- This research was motivated by the low level of financial literacy understanding among elementary school students, which was generally caused by Social Studies learning that was still conventional and lacked contextual and meaningful experiences. Students often understood financial concepts only in theory, without opportunities to apply them in real-life situations. Therefore, this study applied the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model through the Market Class activity, which directly involved students in role simulations as sellers and buyers. The purpose of this study was to describe the improvement of students’ financial literacy understanding after the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model in Social Studies learning. The research used a quantitative descriptive method with an instrument in the form of a financial literacy test that was given before (pre-test) and after (post-test) the learning process. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the N-Gain calculation. The results showed that there was a significant improvement in students’ financial literacy understanding. The average pre-test score of 29.15 increased to 44.80 in the post-test. This improvement was supported by the N-Gain analysis, which showed an average score of 0.84 or 84% (high category) , with a minimum of 0.68 and a maximum of 1.00. Based on the indicators, the highest improvement was in financial knowledge (0.89), followed by financial behavior (0.84), and financial attitude (0.75). In conclusion, the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model in the Market Class setting was effective in improving elementary school students’ financial literacy understanding. Through contextual and experience-based learning, students not only understood financial concepts but also practiced money management, made financial decisions, and developed responsible attitudes toward financial practices.
